Collecting/documenting "tools" for a type of study

I've been using layouts to build a starter for studying, e.g., within the gospels. I have a large screen, so I have a window with passage guides, timeline, searches, notes, etc. Another window is for commentaries, another for harmonies of the gospels, and of course, windows for passages. Here's what I don't know how to do:

For example, the Holman Book of Biblical Charts, Maps, and Reconstructions has for example a chronological list of Jesus' miracles. I can put this resource on a tab in the window but I would like to have some kind of reminder that will take me to this table and tell me that this table is in chronological order.

Any suggestions? And additional suggestions on how others collect resources and tools in this fashion, in what would seem to be a common task, would be appreciated. Thanks

And a mostly unrelated question- is there a chronological harmony of the gospels, and yes, I understand there is no authoritative such.. George Knight's a Simplified Harmony of the Gospel is a nice table of events and teachings although I'm looking for as much in this space as I can find, but it's not a full blown harmony with text.

With that table displayed, drag the tab to the Shortcuts Bar (top of window). Right click and provide a description (Label) for it.

Although not as visible, you can do similarly by dragging it into Favorites.

I have that resource. And it has an interesting feature (in Logos) ... the charts directly reference the Bible text, and the references are 'live'.

That means (if you wanted), you could put a CitedBy tool in your layout. Basically, in the tool, you identify the Holman resource (tagged or collection), Then you link the CitedBy to your Bible. As you study, it'll be going thru your Holman charts (and maps too) seeing if any apply to your location.

Well, as you note, no authoritative. And indeed none, as stated. At best, four witnesses present their testimony in their own sequence. Choosing an order can be which one, the lead. Or a combination from a modern author.

So, there's several questions:

- Who do you want as the lead. For example one miight lead with Mark, add Luke, then Matt, and finally John. Eusebius took a different approach, grouping parallels by how many matched (not entirely chronological or in-sequence).

- Do you want to compare approaches. If so, the Logos Interactive Parallel Gospel Reader shows several approaches. It's downside is, each parallel is rolled-up ... have to click each one.

- Some are only the 3 synoptics, some add John. Some even include Thomas.

Almost all let you choose the Bible version to be comparing.

EXTRA: This won't be your cup of tea, but Sean Boisen produced a 'Composite Gospel: Parallel Passages. There's the usual sequence as reported. But each parallel shows special labeling, events, and so forth. Then, there's indices. It's good where several passage parallels are similar and you want to consult each.

There are several. You can find them by doing this search on logos.com, or clicking this link: "harmony of the gospels" "chronology"

That turns up A Simplified Harmony of the Gospel. I'm not sure what you mean by saying it "is a nice table...but it's not a full blown harmony with text." Sure, there's a table at the beginning with only references and not the text, but that's just the outline. If you scroll past that (to page 5 in the book) you see the full blown harmony, with all the text.

You'll probably want to skip over Gospels Side By Side: A Harmony of the Gospels by Chronology and Topics, because that is truly just a quick-reference chart.

Glen Cobble's Getting to Know Jesus: Harmony of the Gospels (mistitled on the website, using only the subtitle) is a presentation of all the text in columnar form.

Loraine Boettner's A Harmony of the Gospels and Mark Moore's The Chronological Life of Christ are both presented in paragraph form.

To quote in a reply:

1) Click Reply

2) Select the text you want to quote

3) Click Quote

4) Click at the end of the closing quote codes and hit Enter then type your reply.

And if you want to quote/reply to multiple people in one post, you can do this trick (at least it works on Windows in a browser):

A) Right click on the thread title at the top of the screen in the "breadcrumbs" line:

Choose "Open link in new tab":

C) Now follow the instructions above (steps 1-4) to start a reply to the second person you want to include a reply to.

D) Copy the markup text with the quote tags from that tab and paste it back into the reply you're working on in your main tab. Be careful not to end up with nested quote tags or it will get screwed up. Open/close quote tags then your text, then open/close quote tags, then more of your text, etc.
