Why is Logos creating extra tabs in my Bible versions window?
Recently I've had the problem of Logos creating duplicate or new tabs when I click on the tab of a Bible version in my Bible versions window. What usually happens is that a new tab will open at the far right end of the row of tabs. Sometimes it's a duplicate tab of the one I clicked on that's created, sometimes it's the tab to the right of the one I clicked on that is duplicated, and sometimes it's the Lexham English Bible that is created. Thanks for any help on solving this problem.

Welcome, Michael
Recently I've had the problem of Logos creating duplicate or new tabs when I click on the tab of a Bible version in my Bible versions window.
A screenshot would help us understand this problem. Clarify "Bible versions window" (is it part of your layout?).

Thanks, Dave. Yes, this is a window in my layout. Here is a screenshot. You will notice the reduplicated CEV tab at the far right end. I have circled the CEV tab that is already in my layout. This extra tab was created when I clicked on the NCV tab to the left of the CEV tab.

You couldn't possibly have accidentally pressed Ctrl+Shift+N before clicking on the NCV tab, could you have? Because that keyboard shortcut does create a duplicate of the current tab, as does right-clicking on the tab and clicking "Duplicate". It would be hard to do that accidentally, but just ruling things out at this point.

Thanks, Rosie, but I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary, just clicking on the tab.
I think I might have discovered the issue. I unplugged my mouse and tried clicking around on the tabs using the touchpad, and there wasn't any duplication of tabs. I also tried a different mouse and didn't have a problem. So maybe it was a mouse issue.

Unusual, but you have located the issue. You might look at its Button properties in Windows Settings to see how it is utilized (or different to the other mouse).

Good to hear you fixed it.
Yep. Mice can be problematic. A number of years ago, my wife was cooking something in the oven and then this mother mouse starts bringing out her babies one-by-one from behind the oven onto the kitchen floor. Apparently, she had a nest too close to the oven. My wife insisted we get a new oven that weekend. [:D]

Thanks, Dave. Yes, it's unusual that it would act this way. I've checked the settings, but they seem to be the same.
Ronald, I live overseas in a village and can relate!

If Logos detects even a tiny movement of the mouse when you click, it will open the resource in a new tab.

Double clicking on a tab will open a parallel resource to the tab you are clicking on. Often when I have a mouse that's failing, it will start double clicking sometimes when I intend to just click once.

Thanks, Andrew and Gregory. I just tried double-clicking on various tabs and found that in each case a different Bible version opened than the one I double-clicked. I guess I don't see much use in having that feature. Maybe Logos should just disable it.

Parallel resources is an essential feature for me. This is a good example of how different the needs of users all, yet Logos tries to serve us all.

I see your point, MJ. In my case, double-clicking would sometimes open a duplicate tab of a version that I already had in my window (and ended up deleting). Other times it would open a random version. I'm not sure what is behind the choices Logos makes in regard to what pops up, but it seems that if you can't have some control over that, it just makes more work closing tabs you don't want. But maybe I don't understand enough about the purpose of this feature.

You actually do have control over it. Logos generates one parallel books list; the user may create as many additional parallel books sets as they wish/have need for. In the tool bar of the book panel, one selects the parallel books list you wish to use. The double click (or arrow keys) simply cycle you through that set. It is very useful to cycle through multiple Bibles or commentaries.

Thanks, MJ. Your explanation was very helpful. I understand how it works now.
