Personal copy of book upload to Logos
I am not sure if this can be done. I have a copy of CS Lewis' Mere Christianity in PDF form and want to upload it as a personal resource to my Logos. I want to do this so I can search the resource and markup/annotate it in my Logos.

We can't add PDFs into Logos but you can create a Personal Book from a Microsoft Word format .docx file.
So this would involve you converting the PDF to a .docx file and incorporating that as a Personal Book.
Some guidance on this is at https://wiki.logos.com/Personal_Books

Isn't that copyrighted ... 2016? And sold by Logos?

Mere Christianity is available in Logos, but only in the CS Lewis Collection. (It's not cheap)

I believe if someone owns a copyrighted book (or record, CD, etc.) they are allowed to do format shifting for their own purposes. They're not allowed to circumvent digital copy-protection to do that, though. But if someone has a legally obtained PDF (e.g., by scanning a physical book they own) and they are using it only to read it on their own digital device, copyright law is silent on whether that's legal or not, and I don't think it has been fully tested in the courts. So I would say go for it, but just don't share it with anyone else.

Ok I’ve gotten the PDF converted to doc format. How can I put the doc into Logos? I know that personal books is a tool but I can’t find it

PDF off the internet? But one reason Bob (at the time) demurred on further development of PBs, was users bringing in books Logos sells. I remember both issues were a major problem, which surprised me, on a Christian platform.

It should be under "Tools/Utilities" in Logos.

I've done a little work with personal books, but most of what I've created would be classified as more like booklets from church, papers I've written, etc. that I want to include in Logos. I save the development of "real books" for the experts. Logos does a much better job than I do.

You'll find everything you need to know about Personal Books on the Logos Wiki. It's a good place to search for help on how to do something in Logos. Everything is documented with screenshots, and it doesn't take up the time of people explaining things over again that have been explained before to others.

PDF off the internet?
Nope, I was assuming the honesty of the user, that they created the PDF themselves from a physical book they owned. That might not be a fair assumption in the case of this particular person who is always asking us to share (free) copies of things we have purchased, so... hmm...

No I have taken apart the whole book that I had in print and then scanned it in to my PC. Then I converted it to word format. I had two copies of it.
