The Blues in v26.0 are rather fluorescent
The blues (colors not music) in v26.0 are rather bright and fluorescent and a bit intense on the eyes. Can they be softened and toned down a bit? This is not only the new Logos logo, but also blues in the search window and the Factbook.

Not disagreeing, but on the Mac, and on Verbum, I don't see any change (good). I suppose maybe Verbum is a the calming dark blue with a diamond. I see the fluorescent blue on the web pages though, and I agree. For what?

I totally agree. I am thankful that Logos is trying to stay current but this new electric blue is kinda ugly and a little intense. Maybe it depends on the monitor but I am not digging it. I like the old blue of the logo and the stepped version is cool too but not this one. I logged on today hoping that maybe some others were talking about it and pushing to change it back.

. These blues hurt my eyes, as do the buy buttons in the on-line catalogue. Please tone the intensity down on both. The blues (colors not music)
. The blues music colours would be darker, man. // T' capture the feeling the hue understands0 -
I strongly agree with the sentiment expressed so far in this thread. Besides the new excessively bright Logos icon, I’m seeing this same bright blue used in the results and headings of Searches, Guides, Documents, and Tools. Attempting to read these bright blue results and headings is uncomfortable and if I try to do it for too long it causes eyestrain.
My eyes are also having trouble tolerating the same uncomfortably bright blue color now used in toolbar buttons, library filter results, various other buttons, the command box, resource navigation boxes, and other parts of the program. I have hung a small cloth over the top of my monitor to hide the Logos icon, but the other areas of the program where this same bright blue is now used cannot be avoided.
At the time Logos 10 was released I joined in the near unanimous praise of the UI improvements. Soon after its release, I purchased two Logos 10 upgrades for the first time since Logos 7. My purchases were based entirely on the new UI improvements (most importantly, the elimination of the visually distracting bright green Go box). At that time, I believed it was safe to begin investing in Logos again. Now, less than a year later this drastic and disappointing UI change happens.
The program has more than enough features for me and I am content with its performance. All I want is to be able to comfortably read the text and view program functions. That is what I had when Logos 10 was initially released, but this recent update no longer resembles the Logos 10 I purchased less than a year ago.
Faithlife: Please change the Logos Icon and all UI elements currently using the excessively bright blue color back to the more comfortable blue color originally used in Logos 10, or at least provide an option for a user to make this change on their own.

Agreed! The bright blue now being used in the Logos program is horrible! So bright! It is so unpleasant and causes me a lot of unnecessary eye strain.
They are even using the new logo/colour for the Logos Forums icon. That is, the tabs in Edge or Chrome browsers are using the new logo/colour. I only mention this because I hope they are not going with this colour everywhere!

For branding purposes, it should be consistent. If something needs to change, hopefully FL will be consistent with that change.
As I understand the plan, Logos branding can be used in emergency events for lighting. A pastor need only shine the Logos logo over the congregation (blackout, blow a fuse, etc). This is part of the new 'platform' strategy. Much like .. where was that ... Lexham City. Oh wait, Gotham City.

Y'all, I know it's crazy. I love the color.
I feel guilt over loving it because y'all are all right. It's awful.
Awful awesome.
It won't last long so just enjoy the crazy.

Loved this.!!!!!!

Maybe a free pair of sunglasses with every Logos 10 purchase [H]

Agreed. The new blue is too bright.

Not a fan. Wasn't the change to the gradient rather recent? It was much better. I don't see the need for the bright blue, but I won't dwell on it.

Bingo.

Thanks, I, too, love the color.
Old eyes have trouble picking up nuances of subtle "pastels"
... sorry

I'm legally blind so take this with a grain of salt... I really like the color emphasis. I hope they leave it (or at least leave it as an option). I'm also on a Mac so maybe it's not so pronounced?

No salt needed. I'm not legally impaired, but have trouble with the greys. There's the grey. Then, you have grey-grey. Not to mention the triple-grey (similar to triple dares ... dare you to read THAT!!). It's like greying out your speedometer, to better blend with the dashboard on your car.
I realize (1) FL's trying to get another best-art award (last one, around 2010?), and plan wisely for customer turnover (literally; us oldies and graves).

My eyes have still not adjusted to the intensity of the blue. Can Logos please tone it down a bit? Just take the edge off.

The blue hurts my eyes. No other way to say it than this nu-blu makes my eyes pulse, something I can actually feel. This certainly is not welcoming; I leave where this colour is spilled.

It hurts mine also Scooter in a similar manner to what you have described.

I appreciate the company’s refocus on their core mission and re-emphasis on the Logos brand, but I am very much against the accompanying extreme bright blue UI color change and do not understand why it was deemed necessary since there does not appear to have been any prior customer demand for it. I could not find any previous request for it in the user forums or Feedback boards. Furthermore, I do not understand what significant new user market it is intended to attract.
I have submitted a Feedback request regarding this issue. Here is the link: https://feedback.logos.com/boards/logos-desktop-app/posts/add-an-option-to-change-all-ui-elements-currently-using-the-extreme-bright-blue-color-back-to-the-more-comfortable-blue-used-prior-to-version-26. If you agree, please support this request with your vote. Reflected below is a copy of the request:
Title: Add an option to change all UI elements currently using the extreme bright blue color back to the more comfortable blue used prior to version 26.
Description: The high contrast extreme bright blue color now used throughout the program is very uncomfortable for my eyes. This UI change was introduced in software version 26 and is causing me to experience eyestrain. Other users have expressed similar concerns. Please see this thread: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/216724.aspx.
Specifically, I am referring to the uncomfortable bright blue now used in the Logos logo as well as the results and headings of Searches, Guides, Documents, and Tools (including the Factbook). It is also used in toolbar buttons, library filter results, various other buttons, the command box, resource navigation boxes, and other parts of the program.
Please add an option for a user to change all UI elements currently using the extreme bright blue color back to the more comfortable blue color used prior to software version 26. One way this might be accomplished would be to add two choices under the Accessibility section of the Program Settings, one for “normal” and one for “bright”.
Having this option will provide relief to those of us who are experiencing eye discomfort and pain from the current extreme bright blue UI elements but will also accommodate users who suffer from vision loss and might require UI elements this bright.

Voted. In the meantime, perhaps we need to invest in some blue blocking sunglasses for our Bible studies.

(Verse 1)
Well, I woke up this morning,
Feelin' kinda strange,
Got this glow all around me,
Like nothin' I can explain.
(Chorus)
I got the fluorescent blues,
Shinin' bright in every hue,
Can't shake this neon glow,
It's followin' me wherever I go.
(Verse 2)
Walkin' down the street,
People stop and stare,
They say, "Man, what happened to you?
You look like a neon flare!"
(Chorus)
I got the fluorescent blues,
Shinin' bright in every hue,
Can't shake this neon glow,
It's followin' me wherever I go.
(Bridge)
Doctor said, "Son, you're a mystery,
Never seen a case like this before,
But don't worry, it'll pass with time,
'Til then, embrace the glow, let it soar."
(Verse 3)
Well, I went to a party,
And I lit up the whole place,
They said, "You're the life of the party,
With that neon smile on your face."
(Chorus)
I got the fluorescent blues,
Shinin' bright in every hue,
Can't shake this neon glow,
It's followin' me wherever I go.
(Verse 4)
Now, some folks may laugh,
Others just don't understand,
But I've learned to embrace my glow,
It's a part of who I am.
(Chorus)
I got the fluorescent blues,
Shinin' bright in every hue,
Can't shake this neon glow,
It's followin' me wherever I go.
(Outro)
So, if you see me walkin' by,
With my fluorescent blues so bold,
Just remember, it's my spirit shining,
And I ain't afraid to let it unfold.0 -
Well, I woke up this morning,
Well, you definitely woke up!
Nice.

You guys probably know that, but Windows offers some color filters and also the night light option, which might be helpful in some cases(?). There is also other software available to put a filter on the colors on the screen. I can't recommend anything, as I don't have those problems, but something like that might be worth a try. Also experiment with your screen's settings. All of this would not only help with Logos, but also with other programs you use.

I already use f.lux on my Windows PC and already have the blue light reduced even during the day as my default setting, and even more so at night. And the blues in v26 are still a problem. The problem isn't my display colors, the problem is the blues they chose for Logos v26. Vik said they're looking into it so hopefully we can get some relief.

Very nice, Greg!!
You would name your song 'Fluorescent Blues,' right?

I use a MacBook Air and I like the brighter blue. I am colorblind and it is a little easier for me to see.
