okay - it's not a saying of Jesus, it's not outside the canonical Gospels ... how can it be a key passage when it is totally unrelated?

I can look into this further but my suspicion is that it's referencing a quote by Jesus that sometimes gets linked to Luke 9:55: "You do not know what spirit you are of.”Since this is a textual variant and the LBD article explicitly mentions textual variants as a source of Agrapha, it was included as a key article. LBD article actually includes Lk 9:55 as an example.
Okay, this is a different handling of textual variants of the canonical Gospels than I am used to but at least I can make sense of it. However, I'm going to make a suggestion that references to textual variants be marked as such.
