Update and Revision of Moulton & Milligan Coming...Not to Logos

Allan T. Loder has updated and revised Moulton and Milligan in an effort to finish what these scholars started. For me it is a thoroughly exciting announcement. Unfortunately, this work is planned to be released to only two Bible software platforms, neither of which are our beloved software.

I think this work is important and will provide valuable lexical insight into Koine Greek to the interested student. I hope FL pursues the rights to bring this work to Logos. Vocabulary of the Greek New Testament Student Edition looks exciting.

Looks like Accordance is possibly the Mac destination. But even before this, I wondered if Logos has pretty much left MM behind (in functionality, access to papyri, etc)? Certainly, I'd add VGNTse, I suppose.

I putted about and found Allan is an interesting fellow. He is an artist and keeps a blog, having a section he devotes to his students, which has some interesting entries.

It appears that TheWord Bible Software already has a version (1.5) of the VGNTS available. I'm not brave enough to plunk down my $30 to test drive this one on this free software program.

I'll wait for its premier on Accordance. Still hope FL can work deal.

Not important, but I guess you watched the video. I can't speak to the specific word, but just last week, I needed access to that Syriac volume he demonstrated. How's that for bizarre!

I suspect he's been a victim of missing referenced volumes ... quite busy!

I already was aware of that; but, would prefer a Logos Research Edition to use opposed to having another software for one resource. It does seem as if the resource already has what is necessary to put it into a Logos resource. So, perhaps not much formatting work or linking to be done. But I guess that would be up to Allan Loder if he would be willing to license his work.

Oh, I wasn't suggesting software; only demonstrating it's in the marketplace, and as you point out, digitized.

I do wonder if FL is configured for single authors, on the research side. In theory, Lexham. But even that might be a bridge too far. We'll hope.

I'm probably repeating myself, but I like lexicons that include snippets of the usage and origen. My Chicago Assyrian is like that; presents the culture with the word.

Any word on whether this is going to be available as a pre-publication resrouce for Logos? It would be a natural for a Logos Research Edition.
