Many Roman emperors detested the intolerance of the Jewish people as from what I can see. I think there was increased mistrust, animosity, and persecution of Jews. Where can I find materials for this search?
from what I can see
Where are you seeing it?
Is that not a good place to start in your study?
This is from my reading of The Jews Under Roman Rule by William Douglas Morrison. I cannot find anything new on this topic.
I've not read these closely, but they may be useful....
Askowith, Dora. The Toleration and Persecution of the Jews in the Roman Empire, Part. I: The Toleration of the Jews under Julius Caesar and Augustus. New York, 1915.
Schürer, Emil. A History of the Jewish People in the Time of Jesus Christ, First Division. Vol. 1-3. Edinburgh: T&T Clark, 1890.
Radin, Max. The Jews among the Greeks and Romans. Philadelphia: The Jewish Publication Society of America, 1915.
To read their words firsthand, see Stern, Greek and Latin Authors on Jews and Judaism (4 vols.) As you get into this subject, you will see that it is an entire "industry" within modern scholarship with literally hundreds of things written about it.
