Bible Engagement Project in Dark Mode
Our church has been doing the Bible Engagement Project for several months. I've been going thru it in Light Mode because the questions in Dark Mode are almost unreadable. Is there any way to change the font color on the questions? White on Tan just doesn't work for my eyes.

AFTER Ryan gets his question answered, I would appreciate it if someone would explain how the Bible Engagement Project works in Logos. Faithlife says I own the product, but I don't see how to access/use it, so I can't even see what Ryan is dealing with.
Thanks!

Thanks JT. [:)]
Ryan, if you'll tell me how you're accessing the project questions in Logos, I'll take a look to see if I can help. Per Faithlife, I own the product, but the product appears to just be a collection of resources (like Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc). What resource do you have open in Logos where you see the project questions you asked about?

I started it with the actual app on iOS and it auto loaded into Logos when I installed the software. But in anticipation to your next question, "how do I access it": I just searched in the library for Bible Engagement Project. The first pic is how to search, second is how it shows up for me in the Logos software, and third is how it looks.

Welcome to the forums! To include an image with a post you need to use either the paperclip icon or the amber icon next to it. Simply trying to do copy and paste does not work as you have probably already figured out.

Just for giggles, I'll see what's involved in getting the app up and running on my Android phone and see if having it installed there makes any difference in what I see when in Logos.

I'm afraid the bottom line is I'm no closer to seeing any BEP related screens in Logos now than when I first saw your post. Sorry about that. [:(]
At this point, I'm going to remove the BEP app from my phone, delete my BEP account on the WEB (if I can), and change my Faithlife/Logos password to something BEP doesn't know about.
Sorry I wasn't able to help. [:S]

Rick my understamding is there was a BEP base package which I suspect you have purchased.
Separate to that is a BEP program which is run through churches and provides access to study materials
that show up in the courses tool and apparently now also an app.
https://bibleengagementproject.com/
Looking at the website it does though give the impression individuals can sign up for free.

My understanding was that Ryan could see the guided course study material in Logos and that's where he was having problems with the readability of the course study questions. That's what I was not able to duplicate. I do have all the resources in my Logos library for the BEP package Faithlife says I own, but none of the guided study course material was integrated with my Logos installation.
If the guided study course material is supposed to integrate with Logos, I must be missing something or doing something wrong... just don't know what. [:S]

BEP is a free app. They just released the new version.

From my understanding, you had to use the same login on BEP for Logos and it automatically carried over.

Setting it up is a bit obscure, so I've created a Faithlife group that automatically adds the resources to all followers for those who don't want to deal with the app. (It's not an official FL group, but I set it up for my own organization.)

f the guided study course material is supposed to integrate with Logos, I must be missing something or doing something wrong... just don't know what.
To Rick and everyone (myself included) this may answer some questions (from the bible engagement project website FAQ).
So yes, when you purchased one of the BEP base packages you were purchasing LOGOS Resources only.
I "Think" that you then needed to go to the BEP website and register there using the same info that you used to log into your logos app.
Then (again I am guessing) the BEP would grant access to the course material (items that were not in the base package) through the Logos app.
If you did this the course material would be accessed through the Course tool in Logos. IF you did not register with BEP you now have to access this material (for free) from their tool/app or their web site.
If you bought one of the Logos BEP base packages you still have that in your library and access it as you normally would any resource.
Note: I am not affiliated with either the BEP nor Faithlife/Logos. Most of this is guessing with the exception of the screen capture I provided from the BEP website.

Agreed.
I "Think" that you then needed to go to the BEP website and register there using the same info that you used to log into your logos app.
That was the conclusion I came to as well, but that's where I ran into my first problem, in that BEP would not let me register using my Faithlife/Logos login info. BEP said my Faithlife password didn't meet their password criteria.
That's a major "gottcha" if you're told that in order for the BEP coursework material to work in Logos that you have to register with BEP using your Faithlife login info, but then not accept the login info they said you have to use.
So at that point, I very begrudgingly changed my Faithlife password to meet BEP's criteria, and registered with BEP. But after doing that, I still could not find the BEP coursework material in Logos... and yes, after doing some general searches, I looked specifically within the coursework category of my library.

I still could not find the BEP coursework material in Logos... and yes, after doing some general searches, I looked specifically within the coursework category of my library.
I started following Jan Krohn's Group above and the curriculum resources started downloading into my Logos (quite a number of MBs, since the videos seem to be embedded in the Courseware Textbooks), 15 resources - Listen, Learn, Live in 5 age groups each - times 2 for English and Spanish, temporary license. I don't know how he made this happen, bit it simply worked: Thanks a lot!

If I have the time and feel really motivated, I might try going through the process again, and/or following Jan Krohn's group. But... since I'm already registered with BEP (and don't recall seeing a way to de-register), that may throw a wrinkle into the process if I try it again, whether doing so via Jan's group or doing it from scratch.
IF I try it again, I'll post the results, but I'm not keen on changing my Faithlife password again.

Jan,
Thank you for both doing this and sharing it as well. It allowed me to get the BEP resources downloaded into my Logos library.
I did not think it was working at first as it took a bit for the resources to show up. Went to bed, looked again after I had gotten up the next day and there they were!

Rick,
I don't see anything in the old iOS app but in the new (just released) versions for both iOS and Android, at the bottom of your user profile page there is a "Delete Account" link. I have not tried it as I do not want to delete my account. [;)]
I would try Jan's group. I know that is what worked for me.

I've only taken a cursory look at the course material so far. The text material seems to work OK, but the videos embedded in the course material are not working properly--i.e. there is no audio, and if I click a different spot on the timeline to move back or forward in the video, they stop playing and won't start again. I've tried viewing a few of them from different course sections (e.g. Listen, Learn, Live), and it's the same throughout. They play fine if I open them directly from BEP's website though. I don't know if the videos have much impact on the overall usefulness of the course material, but if they do, I suppose I can just view them from the BEP website.
Do the videos work for you from within Logos?

So far, everything looks good with the exception of the videos that are embedded in the course material. I.e. there's no audio, and if I click a different spot on the timeline to move back or forward in the videos, they stop playing and won't start again. The videos play fine from BEP's website, so I'm guessing that's an issue with the course material's overall integration into Logos. Hopefully, it's a minor glitch that will be resolved soon.
Thanks again for setting up the group.

Do the videos work for you from within Logos?
Hi Rick.
The answer is both Yes and No.
On my mac they play without a hitch.
On my windows Laptop and in a VM Windows install I also get no audio.
I looked in the Windows Store and found an application (free) that does play the video. I tried a couple different ones and think I would settle on VLC Player for this purpose.
To get this to work on windows I had to download/install the VLC player, Install the VLC player extension into Chrome browser (I use this as my default) and then tell Chrome to always open this type of file. Once I did that whenever I would click to play a video in Logos for these courses, the browser would open to download the video, and once downloaded, VLC would open and play without any other input from me.
You might not want to do this however. I did it to a windows VM install that is not my main system.

The curriculum resources have been removed from my Logos account, and the licenses have been removed from my FL group. I pretty much had the impression that the license was permanent.
Ah, well.....

I can confirm that the BEP Curriculum resources have vanished from my library - they were temporary licenses for me (according to my post earlier in the thread). I didn't expect that to happen - if there had been a warning, I might have tried to at least export some content - and I think it's unfortunate for people who actually use this material in their church and are now thrown out of the Logos environment. It's possibly a way to force all users to use the AOG app, which gives them more control

Many temporary licenses are permanent, such as the ones from Logos Basic. I meant permanent in the sense that users may keep them, not in the sense of "owned".
