Anything discussing going to God first vs making a decision first then asking for blessing

I’m reading Jer. 42, where the people had already made up their mind to go to Egypt but as Jeremiah to ask the Lord for his direction. Ultimately they stuck with their first decision and go to Egypt. Looking for any resources that would touch on the subject of teaching us to go to the Lord first vs making a decision first then going to the Lord asking for a blessing.

I "think" that the search includes Logos Store resources and not just the ones you currently own, as you can limit the search to "Your Books" instead of "All Books".
