I've noticed that sometimes when I search for a book, the search bar "recognises" the resource, but returns zero result for the book itself. This is still the same if I exclude geographical restrictions and search in pre-pubs too.

Any thought why this might be the case? Does it mean Logos recognizes the book and may plan on making available at some point.

Today's case in point was a search for

Man and Woman, One in Christ: An Exegetical and Theological Study of Paul's Letters by Philip Barton Payne.

It recognizes parts of your input from Titles and Descriptions e.g.

Man and Woman, One in Christ: An Exegetical and Theological Study of Paul's Letters; whilst
Man and Woman, One in Christ: An Exegetical and Theological Study of Paul's Letters by Philip Barton Payne got no results; and
Philip Barton also produced Philip Barton Payne with better results than the former, but not the title you were after.

Today's case in point was a search for

Man and Woman, One in Christ: An Exegetical and Theological Study of Paul's Letters by Philip Barton Payne.

From the "add to library" view and the print library entry, I think this book at one time was produced as an eBook:

Maybe it got pulled from (or never finally rolled out to) the eBook store because of some rights issues - or because Faithlife decided it was better suited for a Logos edition. They sometimes do or at least did this, and the respective books may or may not come to Logos many months or years later. Which is stupid, in my opinion. They shouldn't do this when it is unclear if they ever can produce it, or when the ship date realistically is more than two years away - in my opinion, if they pull an eBook for that reason, they should immediately set up the PrePub page for it. I bought the Kindle version about a year ago.

Yes, my search which was recognised was indeed for "Man and Woman, One in Christ: An Exegetical and Theological Study of Paul's Letters". I added the author for clarity in the post.

They frustratingly pulled another book by this author from the ebook store. Whilst it's now in pre-pub in Logos, it's frustrating that a book gets pulled long before it's then available in the other store.

Don't take the store search bar "recognizing" a book as meaning it has it in its database. You can type any nonsense in that search bar and it will show an apparent match in the dropdown menu, as long as you type in title case.

If you type in all lower-case, that's when you'll be able to tell if you've really got a match or not. It will convert it to title case if it's a title in their catalogue, but not if not.

The book you were looking for does not show up as a match in this way.
