Can we find all verses cross-referenced by verses in a passage list?
The search crossref:passagelist:”passage list name” shows all verses which contain cross-references to verses in the passage list.
Is there a search that will show all verses cross-referenced by verses in a passage list?
(I actually thought this was what crossref did but looks as though I was wrong!)
Thanks, Graham

You mean that gives the same information as the Cross-reference section but for the list of passages? That would be handy.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Not directly.

I haven’t tested this, but does milestone:passageList:”My Passage List” in a resource such as TSK work well enough for you? You’d then need to copy the search results into a Passage List.

I thought about that. And it is better than copying the references out of footnotes in a bible via:
But it depends what one wants and whether the manual effort of copying from multiple milestones is worth the effort.

Thanks Mark and Dave
I was trying to respond to a request from another customer in a FB forum.
He had a passage list that contained a number of verses - and he wanted to find all occurrences of light or darkness (for example) in all the verses which the verses in his passage list cross reference to.
The best solution he has at the moment is to use the Cross Reference Guide for each verse in the Passage List and create a Passage List for each one - and then combine them into one overall Passage List. He can then use that for searching in.
I was wondering if there was a better way to do this.

This should work with Bibles that have Cross-References. Open the Concordance Tool and Choose ESV. then Reference and then Your Passage List in the dropdown. You can then sort by heading. I think you can print the result in Excel.
I believe you can do the same with the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge.

and then Your Passage List in the dropdown.
Thanks John - but I didn't see Passage Lists as an option.
Are you seeing them?

We need something like crossRefLlist:passageList: to generate the cross references as results that can then be put in a PL.

That would do it Dave!
Mark, any thoughts on how difficult / feasible this would be?
Thanks, Graham

OK. I remember how I did this. I printed the Passage List as minimized. I sent that to word. I copied that list to Bible search. I then saved that list in all Passages. Then it is available in the Passage List dropdown.
