BUG: Kindle Fire app non-functioning
After using the app for some years, the Kindle Fire version has just stopped working (after a recent update?). If you can even get past the blue loading screen, the furthest I can get is a loading animation as I try to access the library.
I've tried it on a (brand new) Fire HD 10 , fully up-to-date; as well as the Fire HD8 plus, and a Fire HD8. It just doesn't work I contacted support who responded promptly, but by telling me to implement a fix that involved downloading a google app from the Play store, which the Fire cannot access without some tinkering and voiding the warranty. After being asked about this, I haven't heard back.
Has anyone else encountered this? Any solutions?
I know it's possible to run the Android app after side-loading the Play store, voiding the warranty as I said above. I've tried that on one device, and it works, sort of, but it's so buggy as to be unusable for taking notes. It just crashes.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you are experiencing. I have a Fire HD 10 Plus and it's running on the Fire OS 7.3.2.8. I have both the Logos app and the Verbum app installed and use them both regularly, both without the problems you are describing. The version of both Logos and Verbum is 27.0.1, which is the latest stable release as far as I know. The best suggestion I can offer is to try and send the logs the next time it comes up before you access the library. You may also want to try installing the Verbum app to see if that will play better. If if does then that could be an indication that the load you received of the Logos app is somehow faulty.

I am not an android user, fire or not. I do know of some android specific issues which may be related to your issue. I do know that updates are slower getting to fire devices due to how the amazon store process works.

Sam, we apologize for the sudden crashing. I see the issue you're experiencing on my end and have created a case for it to be resolved. We are currently investigating, but, due to the large amount of ambiguity around the crash you're having, it will require a large chunk of investigation. Nonetheless, we are looking into it. Thank you for your patience!

Thanks for your help. Interestingly Verbum does seem to play somewhat better - from a quick play around it doesn't seem slow or crashy. It doesn't display my notes, however, so not perfect, and for my uses that's a really big problem.
Again, thanks!

Verbum clearly just needed some time to catch up. It now displays my notes; haven't had an opportunity to test it properly, but it seems to be working far better than Logos was (though again, I need to take some time to retest).

I keep both of them installed. I use Verbum primarily for my devotional reading, so not a use where I am dependent on a lot of features or updates. I use Logos when I am doing just about anything else. I take notes using whichever one I happen to be using at the time. If, while I am using Logos for study, I encounter a problem that somehow disables full use (or even any use of Logos, which it has in the past) I still have Verbum available for my devotional reading, which is more important for me to be able to do in the mobile app.
