Hi,

I am using desktop logos version 27.3.26 on my mac book.

I would like to search I am the bread of life in Logos search.

By putting the whole sentence I am the bread of life, there are multiple results which are not exact match only I am the bread of life. I would like to see only the exact match verses for that searched sentence.

Could you please suggest?

Thanks.

Try putting the search string in double quotation marks

    Graham,

Thanks for advise. It works well with double for search in logos app web;  but in the logs app desktop, for the same search with double quote, it produces multiple results which do not exact sentence.

    Thanks.

for the same search with double quote, it produces multiple results which do not exact sentence.

You have requested a fuzzy search which is used for finding half-remembered verse. Switch to passages and it till work fine.

    MJ,

    Yes, it works.

    I appreciate it.

Also, be careful of always using the Options in the top bar

    image

    • You have selected Match case for a case sensitive search.
    • You have selected Match all forms to perform a search that is stemmed e.g. where live will match live, lived, living
    • You have selected Default Reference matching which will impact results from a datatype query like topic:light
      • Default will use other datatypes like culture:light (with the same value), but you won't know that from the results.
      • Narrow will only use the datatype or Search that you specify  --> my recommended setting
      • Broad will incorporate other datatypes, plus headwords and words with values that are roughly equivalent to your value.
e.g. topic:light will return results from culture:light + Light and "Light and Darkness"!
