I chose this example because it is the only one I have found that doesn't ignore the Oriental Orthodox. I would like it if Logos offered something similar but allowed for overlays by traditions e.g. Syriac, Greek, Latin, Arian (Cathar?) and Protestant. I find that seeing the ebb and flow of Christianity in various regions and how long the Arians thrived provides a framework for understanding Christian history that Western only history does not. Do you know of better examples of how to get the points across?

That is pretty good! I wondered if they would catch The Church of the East's spread to China, then its "retreat" and later re-spread back into China in about 900-1000 a.d (one Mongel tribe during those times had 100,000 baptisms!). I have been studying a lot of church history the last while for a historical project/timeline. There is a lot in the East that is ignored (unintentionally) by those of us in the west. This could be made into an hour-long video to expound what was happening, but even 10 hours or a 100 hours couldn't fill in all the details of men and women who made it happen. In my case, I have about 250 feet of wall space to make a timeline from creation to the present, hitting the high spots of church history (with an emphasis on the Anabaptist movement). It is difficult to know what to leave out ... so much could be said.

There is a lot in the East that is ignored (unintentionally) by those of us in the west.

What a tool this could be in Logos! I'm thinking about user selected layers by region, date/era, movements, etc. Plus, it looks like it could be lots of fun.

It reminds me of weather maps that can go backwards or forward (hmm; the spread of Christianity into the future? Maybe that's beyond current technology 😉), include air pressure, temperature, etc.

Things like this are always useful. Whether it is needed in the program or not, I am not sure. But I sure wish to know where to find such material. I like what Lew wrote.
