Course Readings are all highlighted
Greetings,
I am working through the course I just purchased and am noticing that all of the readings (not the text the teacher is speaking) are totally highlighted. When I want to add my own highlights, they just blend in. Is there a way to de-highlight the readings so that only my highlights show? I have even noticed that when I open a book outside of the course. Seems to be somehow connected to the notes.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Patrick

Welcome Patrick,
Make sure we know the name of the course. Are you on Mac or Windows? What version of Logos?
The Notes tool should be able to identify Notes/Highlights. Click a Course name under Resource in the Filter sidebar. Now look under Type:
- Responses are the result of answering an Activities question.
- Highlights could be what you are seeing, but what you report is unusual. However, you can delete the ones you do not want.
- if not present, we need a screenshot of the coursebook outside the Course tool (don't paste it).

The course is Bl205. I have attached a screenshot of one of the examples.
Again, thanks for your help.
You should be able to delete that by right-clicking anywhere and following the steps below:
- Click Selection
- Click Delete notes and highlights
You can delete multiple notes in the Notes tool:
- Select the Resource from the sidebar
- Select the Notes
- Delete the notes
- (they are sent to Trash and can be recovered if needed)

Dave told you how to delete the note, but you can also turn off the specific note file.
Good point. Patrick could delete the Notebook in the Notes tool if was imported by accident.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I deleted the Notebook and that did the trick.....removed all the highlights except for the ones I added. Much appreciated!!!!

It may be that the highlight was attached BY REFERENCE in another resource and "Notes & Highlights (Corresponding)" was picking it up. Did you check to make sure that wasn't the case? Did you verify that the note in question wasn't one you actually wanted (but just didn't want showing in that resource)?

Not sure about this JT
Aren't Notes and Highlights (Corresponding) used for non referenced highlights with highlights with a reference anchor appearing in all matching versified resources?

I don't know. Perhaps I said the wrong thing. But here is a screenshot of what I just tried:
Anyways, I selected a VERSE (Phillipians 4:1), clicked a highlighter and the entire verse highlighted. I opened up a commentary and FIVE PARAGRAPHS with the same reference were highlighted.

Yes because they all have the same milestone - the verse.
If you disable the Notes visual filter in the commentary the highlight will disappear, if you disable the Corresponding Notes and Highlights visual filter it will have no affect.

Patrick, if you read the above discussion could you help us? Was the Notebook you deleted related to Notes you made on other resources like Bibles or Commentaries, because certain Notes would affect your Course Textbook, as it has bible references.?

Greetings,
when I signed up for the course there was a link for me to download the notes for the course. It was this notes “file” that caused all of the readings to be highlighted. Once I deleted that, all of the highlights disappeared except for the ones that I added.
