Copy Bible verses Issue

I'm not able to get a Bible verse pericope copied the way I need to by modifying the 'copy scripts.' For example, if I copy and past Rom. 4:13-15, this is what I get.

Romans 4:13–15, " For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if those who are of the Law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise is nullified; 15 for the Law brings about wrath, but where there is no law, there also is no violation.

Notice the space after the first quote. I'd like that to not be there. Also, there is no final quote mark. So, I have to edit every scripture reference I use.

I use logos hours every day when writing articles on carm.org. It would be great if a format could be produced that looks like the following.

Notice that there is a quote without a space at the beginning, no quotes within the body, and the final quote at the end.

Also, also it would be great if there was an option for the book reference to be abbreviated. Romans to Rom., 1 Corinthians to 1 Cor., etc.

Thank you for the information. I went through all the references and codes and tried to produce what I was looking for. I could not. I don't know if it's worth mentioning to you the idea of more specific codes that can allow for better formatting. But then again, I'm not the average user. After all, I'm always writing articles and quoting Scripture references in them. So formatting is important and I spent a lot of time reformatting versus that I paste into documents.

I can't reproduce the problem. Could you provide a step-by-step description of how you get the bad results, the Bible you are using and the style you are using?

It is a compromise as the space between [VerseNumInContext] [VerseText] ensures a space between verse number and text, especially for verse 1 where it is omitted by design. For some translations there can be a lack of space before the verse number e.g. "the Word was fully God.2 The Word was with God" (NET).

For your bible (NASB95), this produces:

You have to decide if [ShortPassageRef] and [VerseNum] are better solutions.

I think the "copy verse" in Logos needs some work. I don't use it, but one thing that would help for me to use it is to be able to format a verse like I want it to be (per Dave's illustration) and then set that format as the default.... then be able to right click on a verse, click on copy and have that format used when I paste into my document (Logos document, Word, Power Point, browser page, etc.) Like having the ability to edit a format, then set that format as the default.

As I remember it (I admit I don't use Logos verse copy because of this)... I have to open copy Bible Verses Tool, type in my passage or passages, chose my format to use, and then copy.

I wish Logos would make it simpler. But.... I am glad I still have ZipScript! [8-|]

I just tried what I said above.... and it worked. I opened Copy Bible Verse, created a format, then actually copied a bible verse using that format... then closed Copy Bible Verse.... then I right click on a separate verse, clicked on "Styled" then pasted in MS Word.... and the verse used the format I created .... If this is the way it works.... which I hope someone will verify..... then this may be better than ZipScript????? (gulp!)

Yep it seems to work. I notice that now, I right click on the verse number, click on "Styled" and then it seems to copy the verse to my clipboard in the format I created....and I can paste it where I want. But I'll have to use it for a while before I give up on ZipScript.... old habits are hard to give up on. [8-|]

I had started replying, asking you what part of this you couldn't do but I see you discovered that you can do this. Please remember to ask on the forums when a tool seems difficult to use so we can help identify where your problem really is ... that's what we are here for. Your complaints re: CBV now make sense as if it worked as you thought, your complaints were valid ... but it was a simple matter of knowing how to use it.
