Controlling slides in Logos through Proclaim

I preach using the Logos app, and our church presents through Proclaim, so theoretically I can control the slides through Logos... but it is so laggy as to be unusable. With the Proclaim Remote, I can connect to the computer with an IP address and it works beautifully, but I can't find that option anywhere in Logos. Is it possible to connect Logos to the slide presenting computer in the same way to get rid of the lag?

Hi - and welcome to the forums

Is it possible to connect Logos to the slide presenting computer in the same way to get rid of the lag?

    No this is not possible.

But please provide a bit more information about your setup. I regularly use Logos Sermon slides to control Proclaim and it works without any appreciable delay.

    Some questions:

    • what device are you running the Logos app on?
    • what sort of lag are you seeing?
    • what sort of Internet connection do you have - is it constrained in terms of bandwidth?
    • which version of Proclaim are you running on your projection computer?

With the Proclaim Remote, I can connect to the computer with an IP address and it works beautifully, but I can't find that option anywhere in Logos.

Do you get a similar lag if you don't set it to connect directly?

Yes, I get a similar lag (5-20 seconds) with Proclaim Remote if not connected directly to the computer.,

I use Logos on an iPad 9th gen, and I don't know offhand which version of Proclaim we're running, but we just did an update two weeks ago, so it's the most recent one. We don't have bandwidth constraints with our internet (we just added a wifi repeater to strengthen the signal in case that made a difference, and it did, but not much).

That does sound as though there is some sort of Internet bandwidth issue - as the Remote (when not connected locally) and the Logos app both use that

I suggest reposting in the Proclaim forum and seeing if the people there can advise further.

Thanks. I was hoping Logos had a similar feature that let me connect locally, but if not, we'll stick with Proclaim for managing the slides.

It would be interesting to hear the perspectives of users around the globe. Perhaps Graham (in the UK?) is addressing servers during low usage times, while Church Admin is on the Continental USA where the concentration of churches using Proclaim may be higher.

I'm just speculating because there have been times when my Sunday morning challenges do not manifest during the week.

Making Disciples!  Logos Ecosystem = Logos10 on Microsoft Surface Pro 7 (Win11), Android app on tablet, FSB on iPhone, Proclaim (Proclaim Remote on Fire Tablet) &  FaithlifeTV via Connect subscription.

    That's an interesting thought

That's right - so normally using it between 11 & 12 AM UK Time which is 3-4 AM PDT (when there are probably not a lot of services in the States taking place!
