I would love to see an ESV with Apocrypha in a single volume on logos. It would make creating a Bible reading plan from the ESV with the apocrypha, a whole lot easier.
I know it is truncated, but not as truncated as the Protestant edition, but the ESV-CE comes close to meeting your needs.
What's your thoughts on the ESV-CE MJ as far as its Apocrypha translation goes? I did some reading in the apocrypha a little while ago and used the ESV-CE by I've got no idea how good a translation it actually is? Is there a standard English translation of the Apocrypha?
The Lutheran apocrypha studies notes originally was packaged with the standard ESV apocrypha translation. I honestly can't evaluate the ESV apocrypha because it's not one I use often. NRSV, NABRE, NJB, NETS are my standard apocrypha translations.
Thanks!
As the old expression goes, close only counts in Horseshoes and Hand grenades. I would love to be able to put together a year long reading plan that has the full apocrypha. I know I can do it with the Lutheran editions, but it's more of a complex procedure using two texts, as opposed to using a single volume. Plus, the esv-ce, does read differently in a few places from the ESV proper.
You could build the plan from the NRSV then switch the text to the ESV ... I'd have to play with it a bit to verify the detailed how-to's
There is no way to do it that way. Believe me I've tried.
