It would be nice to be able to find all passages tagged with a particular literary genre, e.g. prayer. I don't know of any way to find them all now short of scrolling through the literary typing in a passage guide for the whole Bible. How about adding genre as a thing you can choose from the "All Text" drop-down list to search on? (And have it work with wildcards, like the way I've been using them to search for highlighting, Bradley... [:)])
I agree Rosie. I asked about this way back in 3.0 when the Mackie coding was first available, but back then was told Logos had no plans to allow for genre searching. Seems a big waste to have this data and not be able to search it, so I second the motion.
I not only want the search I also want definitions or at least a reference to their sources.
I also want definitions
Yeah. Might be helpful (he says with tongue in cheek).
I almost have the feeling this genre stuff has been abandoned by Logos. It sure hasn't been developed.
Agreed on all points! [y][y]
Yes, it almost seems like an afterthought but it could be made to be very useful especially in parallel with pericopes.
I agree too. This would be great when doing hermeneutic studies. I could easily reference other like literary types. I think it would be cool to search and find all of a particular genre in the bible.
