Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.

This tip is inspired by the forum post: various

Please bear with me on this post ... it does request some actual work on your part and uncovers some actual work Logos should do. This is designed to get a person's whose Bible study consists primarily of Bible highlight onto the Logos of another family member. It assumes that the more experienced person will:

  1. download the workflow Color codes: Clarion call
  2. download the highlighting palette Color codes: Clarion call
  3. create a shortcut to the workflow and by name/icon insure the highlighter person can find the shortcut as their first step in a study

Advantages to the Bible highlight/markup spouse, child, parent, buddy

  1. They can correct errors
  2. They can move their markup to a new Bible/translation
  3. They can, if they want, slowly be introduced to additional Logos features ... but at their speed and interest level.

This test case if drawn from “Tools I Use” on The Clarion Call website. The same basic structure can quickly be built for any highlighting scheme.

The workflow and palette:

The layout built by following the instructions - scrolled down to show the gentle introduction to Logos features - all either opening automatically or being a single click away.

The first two sections are very explicit instructions on what to do - although I may add detail to how to highlight.

It seems to me that this could serve as an effective bridge between studying with a paper Bible and studying with Logos. I will put in a request for some small changes. See any obstacles that I didn't see?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    What instructions?

It seems that you start with a blank layout, set to two tiles? Then open the W'flow and follow Setup:

    1. ...open the Bible in a "full" panel   ----> delete text as shown
    2. ...open the Highlighting panel ----> which is narrow and on LHS of screen
    3. "Move" the Highlighting panel beside the Bible panel  ---->  "Move"?  Needs more words as Highlighting could end up as a tab alongside the Bible!

Thanks ... I'll make some changes. I was assuming that the workflow is open taking up the traditional half the screen at the point my instructions begin. But I do see some lack of clarity as you point out.
