Deleting highlights in MultiView (Multiple Book Display) Disappeared
I don't bother reporting 'bugs' anymore. Just interesting new Logos design features.
This new one happens in Multiple Book Display (MBD) (latest Verbum; latest macOS).
Normally, to delete a highlight, you have 3 choices. You can re-highlight, for the highlight menu (optional), or the right-click menu. Or just use the Notes tool.
But in MBD, re-highlighting to delete, is now ignored. It thinks you want to just highlight and highlight some more.
The recommended workaround is to simply keep 6 or 7 additional panels open, matching the MBD, just in case a highlight needs removal. Being a bit ascerbic.

Please report bugs ... you're messing with my mental statistics ... they had spent nearly a year squashing their backlog of bugs and I have a mental bet on when they will reach the point where they squash more bugs than were reported in the 6 week cycle.
I have, in fact, noticed that when I am working with a feature I haven't used recently, I am spending less time reporting bugs and more time actually working.

Being a bit ascerbic.
Acerbic acid would remove highlights. [:)], but I've never heard of re-highlighting, especially in conjunction with MBD.
Just use the Notes tool.
EDIT: I tried re-highlighting and it seemed to work once with different foreground colours e.g. red on top of purple. But all it did was stack up entries in the Notes tool!

Hopefully you enjoyed your morning!
Just reporting interesting new features.
I did 'discover' if it's the far-left column (leader), you can delete its highlights using the 2 menus. So, I can positively recommend to limit highlights to the far left column.
EDIT: I think your reading literally (MJ warns against). Wanting to re-highlight as interpreted by the popup menus (when they layout their choices). Literally stated 'selecting'.

Denise, I have no idea what you are talking about (confused). Some screenshots would help to illustrate the "features".

It's pretty straight forward:
Step 1: Highlight text in a resource in a multibook display (not the leader)
Step 2: Delete the highlight without use of the Notes tool
In the image below, the highlighted text has been selected, with the popup menu showing. The user choices presume a new highlight (pencil icon for additional highlight choices); no icon to delete the selected highlight. Right-click menu is similar.

Now we have several bugs:
- On Mac there is no delete function on the Text Selection popup or Context Menu
- On Windows, I can remove the highlight using either method, but
- it is not deleted from the Notes tool!
- this applies to the first slave (as per your screenshot)
- On the second slave, there is no option to delete the highlight (as per your issue).

Yes, you're #2 bug was similarly reported a few weeks ago I think.
I wonder why the Mac doesn't catch the highlight-selected > menu. I noticed this AM on the Mac Kindle, it was having trouble with selection > menu > highlight (what they're now calling the classic Kindle). Sonoma I'm betting (I just upgraded).
From MJ's weekly 'let's try again' re-postings, I've concluded Logos bug reporting is now just interesting new features to be commented on (I'm guessing they're under-staffed for the increasing product footprint).

Thank you for the screenshots and explanation of the issues. If I am following this thread correctly it looks like we have the following issues:
- In multi resource view, the only way to remove a highlight from a resource from the additional versions in view, is to delete the note associated with it as the context menu and highlight popup do not give any options to remove them.
- In the event you are in a situation that allows for deleting a highlight, the highlight is removed from a resource but the note associated with it is not deleted.
I was able to reproduce both of those issues, and will get cases written up for them. If I have missed any details or misinterpreted a report please let me know and I will take another look.

"And if you are presented options for deleting a highlight, the highlight is removed from the book, but its note is not deleted from the Notes tool."
These scenarios occur on both Mac and Windows.
