Strange behaviour of Multi Book Display

I'm using multi-book display with a bible as the driver and commentaries as the slave resources.
This mostly works OK, but there is an anomaly with the Hermeneia commentary on John by Haenchen. This splits John into two volumes, John 1-6 and John 7-21. Since MBD only displays resources with matching references, I would expect only one of these to be visible at a time, but that isn't what I experience.

When selecting John 5:25, only the volume with chapters 1-6 shows, as per my expectation. However, when selecting John 11:25, it shows both volumes, which seems wrong because the first volume doesn't contain 11:25.

Is there any explanation, or is this a bug?

Well, it's been that way from day-1.  Not just Hermeneia or John ... most any 2-volume Bible book, seems.

I've always rationalized that their intent was to include the book's (eg John) intro material, even if the reference is in the 2nd volume.  And (for me), it's just taken up precious space belonging to another commentary.

    Adding:

Actually, just today the behavior goes beyond 2-volume commentary books.  In the screen copy below, the reference is on Mark 5, but the ICC Matthew volume is being displayed (center). So, my rationalization isn't working well.  Even odder, the offending volume is the 2nd volume in the Matthew series ... not even a synoptics intro!

    More adding:

This is totally unrelated (to multi-volume books). And the chance of it happening in Logosia, is 1 chance in 3.1 million.  Since there's only 3 million Logosians, it's unlikely to occur to anyone else:

If you arrange 3 tabs with MBDs, each using a separate Bible as 'leader' (and having differing books).

    And

If you add an MDB panel to the 1st tab, below the existing MDB, using the same Bible-leader as the top panel (this is getting complicated, but interesting).

    Then

The lower MDB panel will repeat itself in each of the tabs have MBDs (even though it's 'physically' only in the 1st tab).

This is probably some sort of loose bug.  But I think it could be an 'interesting feature'.

OK ... back to multi-volume Bible books commentaries in MBDs.

Both of these are the result of incorrect metadata on that book. I've submitted a request to fix these. Thanks for the report!

Appreciate the fixes, but the problem is pretty widespread and easy to find (for years):

I've added the WBC Judges volume to the case to be fixed. Please report any others you find.
