Word from 1 Maccabees 10 in the NT
I am looking at a word from 1 Maccabees 10:28 (ἄφεμα) and want to know how I can find the ways this word's root. How can I find the root of this word and its New Testament formulation?

No different than any other Greek word unless you lack a Bible with the deuterocanonicals and a reverse interlinear. EDIT: In your case, Logos does not provide a root; you need to manually check each of your lexicons. (Thanks DMB for pointing out my sloppiness).

I couldn't see where Logos provided a root for Christian's word. The closest I could find was ἀφίημι, which Sophicles and Brill's DOG list.
