Reinstall Logos 10 on PC without entire library
I would like to reinstall Logos 10 on a PC running Windows 10 without downloading the entire library. When I tried it, rather than giving me the choice of complete or custom install, it simply downloaded the entire library the way it had been before I uninstalled it.
I have a large library that noticeably slows down Logos. Is it possible to uninstall it then reinstall in such a way that it only downloads books as I use them?

Hi Brian
As I understand it you should be able to tackle this from two directions.
Firstly you can uninstall the complete application and start from scratch - one of the options on restarting should be to instal a minimal installation.
Secondly you can identify tranches of your library that you are unlikely to use, Perseus springs to mind. If you highlight these in the library panel then you can secondary click and select 'Remove from this device'.
I don't think a large library should slow down the computer unless the hard disc is nearing capacity. If hard disc capacity is your problem it is very likely to jump up and bite you quite quickly. A larger hard disc might be very cost effective.

Hi Mike,
I thought that option 1 would work, too, but it never gave me the option to do a minimal install. Is it possible that there is a config file somewhere that I need to delete manually after uninstalling?

Sorry Brian -- I don't work with Windows.
Hopefully a Windowist will be along with some advice.

If the only reason to uninstall was to have a minimal install, then I wouldn't do that. I would just select everything in your library and remove it from the device.
This also saves you from having to redownload all your datasets. (which you can't opt out of either)Then download the resource(s) as you need them.

If you have all Features, the dataset size is 8 GB, of which 5.7 GB are reverse interlinears (irrespective of whether you own the corresponding translation). You don't see these in Library.

I wish Logos would only download the interlinears for the bibles that you have a license for, rather temporary or permanent.

But shouldn't he have seen an option to do a minimal install during the installation process? Isn't it a bug if he didn't see it? I've had to reinstall (I just installed Logos on a brand-new laptop) and I have always been able to do the Minimal install option.

It makes sense (I only use 3 GB of the RI's). But I think it would have to be optional e.g.
- create a Command like delete unused RIs and
- bible downloads to include their latest RI (where applicable)
This will have minimal impact on the current App implementation as it provides another option to remove resources (generic) from your device, whilst ensuring that any download of a bible translation will also have their RI downloaded.

Agreed. I would like the RI to download when I download the bible, not before I even own the bible for it. And since I can't use the RI without the bible, if I remove the bible it should also remove the RI. (I guess you could make it optional but I don't see the benefit of having an RI on your computer that you can't use since you don't have the bible for it or you don't have it downloaded.)

That is ideal. I was not proposing that any of the "current App implementation" be changed!
