Looking forward to 4.0d Beta 1 [:D]
http://blog.logos.com/archives/2010/05/logos_40c_is_now_available.html
Yes, ready to get a new Beta. Will we see PBB support?
Because on the 1st of May, Bob said,
PBB for Logos 4 isn't coded yet.... so things are still flexible..
I would not hold your breath that PBB will be part of 4.0d
I am hoping to see printing and sentence diagramming next. PBB would be nice, but I don't think that is likely.

I understand that PBB, which I dearly want, is sitting behind print support. I personally have little or no use for print support. If I print something it needs to look wonderful. That takes a great word processor or publishing tool. My fear is that print support in Logos will never meet all of its pundents hopes. I want PBB to build resources for my students, many of whom have Logos.
Yea, it looks like all promised features have been pushed to September 30, 2010
Ah, but third quarter begins the first of next month. Don't you think those things are next on the list?
Personally, I'm hoping for SermonFile, which is probably very close, developmentally, to the PBB - which I may consider this time (if the price isn't too high). I'm way behind in adding sermons, since I began using L4.
I have little personal interest in the rest of the stuff on the list.
I wish I could put stem searching on the list, though. See here and here.
Ah, but third quarter begins the first of next month.
Third quarter begins the first of July...June is still second quarter...or is July what you meant by "next month"?
[Heavy sigh]
You're right of course. I counted June as the 6th month and the first of the 3rd qtr. My logic following my wishes rather than the math.
On the other hand, there's nothing on the 'what's missing' list anymore except the stuff that's scheduled for 3rd qtr. So maybe . . .

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding...I'm all for hoping and wishing [:)]
Ultomate question, when are we moving to .net 4...?
I'd like to know that too...

I sure hope that this estimate is for a gold release date and that we will soon be seeing some of these features in the Beta issues... Team Logos any input as to whether or not the estimate are for Gold Release versions for these features...
As much as I have learned to love 4.0, I'm ready to go back to 3.0 until these features are ready...
Some of these features will be available sooner for 4.0d beta testing. The release estimate on the missing features web page is for the gold release.
Phew! Thanks Melissa! Hopefully we have a chance at checking our Beta D1 very soon (Hopefully with a new toy or two...:))
Update Now!
Update Now! Update Now! Update Now! Update Now! Update Now! Update Now!
Robert try this command:
Set Update Channel to Obsessive Compulsive
[:)]
Richard, thanks for the laugh. Robert has plenty of company in needing to set his channel to obsessive compulsive. I am not in his company. [:$] Ummmmm am I?
ROTFLPIP
I am just to opposite. I need printing before PBB.

Now that got a laugh out of me...very good
Vincent said he thought Development would move to .NET4 sometime in the the 4.0d beta series. Later Bradley indicated that there was at least one problem with .NET4 that they were not yet able to work around and may hold off moving to .NET4 until a workaround is found. See the thread here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/4369/124129.aspx#124129
I REALLY hope that they press ahead with .NET4 in 4.0d beta series sooner rather than later. It would provide a larger testing base to find other problems and we would finally be able to read Syriac for the first time in 4.0.
Now we need a Logos developer (and their manager) with a warped sense of humor to change the version number once a day and set it as new 4.0d beta release. That should satisfy even the most OCD beta user [;)]

We're not currently planning to migrate to .NET 4 with the 4.0d release.
I tried that but still can't get the first Beta of 4.0e yet. 4.0d is so 2nd Quarter.
P.S. Did you really want to tell the world your email address? But then, its not in plain text anyway ...

Maybe Logos could released a new package beyond Portfolio.
It would of course have all the resources in Portfolio, but also free updates every day, and at least one new resource every week, but you never know the day, so need to try "Update Now" or "Update Resources" as often as you like.
Maybe it could automatically run a "Scan <random dir>" every few hours, just incase it discovers some unexpected L3 resource thats new.
To the point: I look forward to the Object Model / API in 4.0d in the hope I can "automate" hands-free reading. (Reading without the mouse, and not just page-by-page with spacebar etc.)
[:'(]
While your number of Syriac readers is probably very low this is none the less disappointing. It is really difficult to read Syriac with the current .NET3 bug(s). And I for one spend much more time in the Syriac sources than in the Hebrew ones and more time in the Hebrew sources than in the Greek or Coptic ones. And I'll spend even less time in Hebrew once the Leiden Peshitta is released. Which should be soon, right [;)]
P.S. Did you really want to tell the world your email address? But then, its not in plain text anyway ..
I saw that after I posted. I don't think it will be an issue. I changed the original, but the quoted's still have the old one (unless that changes later).
and we would finally be able to read Syriac for the first time in 4.0.
I can't read Syriac right now, never had a lesson. But with .NET4 I'd be able to read it? That's so wild.
I tried reading Syria, but it's all Greek to me...

Haha! That's the kind of upgrade I'd like. But will it require some new hardware (i.e. a plug on the back of our necks) so that .NET 4 can be downloaded (right into our brains)?
With my luck the indexer would crash. [:(]
That's the funniest thing I've read all day! Thanks TB....

Browsing the feedback forum, Bob says that WPF4 is needed before migrating to .NET4.
I stumbled across this tonight there and found it interesting (no way to tell how old it is):
Anyone else looking forward to looking into this one in 4.0d?
EDIT: also see there that merge index will return in 4.0d as well as disable splash screen when linking to L4 from an external application.

The people who voted for it should have gotten an email saying it was started. I think Bob went through today and did some updates because I got this one:
Another one I'm happy about is this one:
There was some discussion on the API, including a response from Bradley here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/16393/125283.aspx#125283
I just hope they make they change to keep the window up when you hover over a prayer intention, instead of it going away in about 7-8 seconds. Imagine trying to pray on this in 7-8 seconds, talk about speed-read praying (it's the prayer for protection for the 7 deadly sins):
O Jesus, meek Savior and Prince of Peace, implant in me the virtues of gentleness and patience. Let me curb the fury of anger and restrain all resentment and impatience so as to overcome evil with good, attain your peace, and rejoice in Your love.
O Jesus, Model of humility, divest me of all pride and arrogance. Let me acknowledge my weakness and sinfulness, so that I may bear mockery and contempt for Your sake and esteem myself as lowly in your sight.
O Jesus, Teacher of abstinence, help me to serve You rather than our appetites. Keep me from gluttony - the inordinate love of food and drink and let me hunger and thirst for Your justice.
O Jesus, Lover of purity, remove all lust from my heart, so that I may serve You with a pure mind and a chaste body.
O Jesus, Father of the poor, help me to avoid all covetousness for earthly goods and give me a love for heavenly things. Inspire me to give to the needy, just as You gave Your life, that I might inherit eternal treasures.
O Jesus, Exemplar of love, keep me from all envy and ill-will. Let the grace of Your love dwell in me that I may rejoice in the happiness of others and bewail their adversities.
O Jesus, zealous Lover of souls, keep me from all sloth of mind or body. Inspire me with zeal for your glory, so that I may do all things for You and in You.
O Jesus, my Merciful Redeemer, my Loving Savior, my Divine Healer, all this I humbly pray and ask in confidence, and filled with faith, hope and trust, in Your Holy and Mighty name, Amen.
I just hope they make they change to keep the window up when you hover over a prayer intention, instead of it going away in about 7-8 seconds.
Melissa's confirmed it will be fixed: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/13725/128423.aspx#128423
Oh that is WONDERFUL! Thank you Mark for pointing that out, and thank you Melissa and Logos!!!!!

Where is this "Feedback forum" found?
It is called the UserVoice (link) by several here on the forum
