(Data?) BUG: Search on Logos.com sometimes fails to find resource
- Enter title of book not in your library
- on the response, select search Logos bookstore
- sometimes you will not get the Logos page but referred to Verbum - I have not found the pattern but the response is not uncommon. In this case removing "The" from the title solves the problem ... in other cases, I've not found the magic to correct the error.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

There are multiple things going on here:
- As you noticed, the book title is listed in the metadata as "Assurance of Our Salvation" (no leading "The"). This seems incorrect, and I've submitted a request to our books team to change that.
- Because of the first point, the use of "title:" in the search to limit which fields are checked, you get no match, because "the" is not part of the title. Just searching for the following shows the book in question as the sixth item in the results (for me): the assurance of our salvation
- Each book has specific configurations indicating whether it is available for purchase in the Verbum application, the Logos application, or the various web stores (Verbum, Logos, etc). This "storefront" configuration (and other information) controls what options are available and what links are provided for further exploration. Because you are running Verbum, a Verbum storefront should be preferred over a Logos storefront. Because this book is not available in any of the storefronts, a link is provided to Logos.com (which has the broadest coverage) in the hopes (I believe) that the user will be able to manually discover something similar to what they are looking for. Obviously the ideal would be a link directly to a storefront page for the appropriate book, but unfortunately that's not currently possible for some books.

Hmmm ... I rarely see the Verbum storefront.

You notice that it is on the title page - the storefront fails to match the actual resource.

I know you are unlikely to have any examples, but can you recall any specific instances where you were directed to the Logos storefront for a resource that was actually on the Verbum storefront? If not, if you happen to run across one in the future, please report it.

Yup. It's also in the cover image. That's why I figured it should be change.
the storefront fails to match the actual resource.
Oh, I see. My apologies. I wasn't testing this with the correct account. That book isn't available at all in the "Add to Library" tab. There are some books that are not available there. If a book is not available for purchase and has been excluded for use in Print Library, then it will not show up in that list. In this particular case, it's not clear to me why that book is not in the list. It looks suspicious to me, and I'll take a look.

Whoops! Oh, once again I was testing with the wrong account. It wasn't showing up for me when I tested with an account that didn't own the Print Library feature, because it's not available for purchase.
So...
the storefront fails to match the actual resource.
The reason for this is that the resource is not on any of the storefronts.
So, I'm pretty sure this is working as expected.

I do wonder why - this is a Crossway resource, not some weird HCCP stuff. And that book is still available in print as well as in digital formats (ePub as well as kindle), so it doesn't look like Crossway somehow lost their rights to sell it... and it used to be available since I own the Logos Research edition. I don't expect an answer, but please make sure internally that this is really "unavailable as it should be" and not a master data error.
Have joy in the Lord!
