Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I've been doing some reading lately that had wanting a resource like this but I hadn't gotten around to doing a search yet. Hope it doesn't stay too long in "in production" limbo.

Well, you could say that the blurb for the book implies that it is strongly polemic - a style which frequently is associated with the elevation of rhetoric over fact. Or I could say that the blurb was sufficient to cause me to order the book for all the wrong reasons ... I will read the book critically in hopes it reflects the carefully reasoning I associate with the denomination of my youth/father not the polemic excess of its blurb.

Welll..... I just hope all "forumites" don't post on things they hate or don't like about some book.... believe me, I could post for a couple of hours about some books and such. Just because your ideology or theology is different, does not give you the right to make crude and negative comments about books about someone else's ideology or theology. Thank you very much.

This thread intriques me. Seems like the book might be similar to EH Broadbent's "The Pilgrim Church" which is not in Logos, but was quite an interesting read. Thanks, DAL for bringing it to our attention.

Not in Logos but it is on archive.org downloadable as a pdf (or epub) so one could make a Logos personal book if was on particular internest and get it into Logos for personal use that way.
Honestly I don't know why David's comment has aroused such ire, sarcasm and negative comments.
I appreciate it when someone raises a caveat about a book because it makes me dig a little deeper into the subject and author before buying it.

I found the text on the Project Gutenberg Australia site to be superior to the one in the Internet Archive (there are two formats, html and plain text). The formatting is much better and, after a quick browse, I haven't found any glaring typos yet. In comparison, the IA text is a mess.

While searching for DAL's book (reviews), I found this title; quite interesting. The title sounds critical, but actually the opposite perspective, trying to understand the issues concerning membership loss.
I wondered about this ... was it faith, doctrine, or local issues. The author has a sociology background (plus a preacher), which I'd think is helpful.

Well I have had it as a PB for a long time. What I meant was it was not a logos product. Despite old, it has been an eye opening book.
