Search for Greek Construction with Subject as Noun (Pronoun's Antecedent) or Pronoun
I have been attempting to do a syntactical search where the subject is a (proper) noun (e.g. nominal clause) followed by a verbal clause, but I am only able to find passages where the noun being specified e.g. Jesus in the Gospels will be found followed by the specified verb (performing an action). However passages that "Jesus" is replaced by a pronoun "He" or as part of the verbal inflection, the passages are not found by the syntactical query.
Is there to include passages with the pronoun antecedent and pronoun followed by a verbal clause (action)?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Mario.
I think maybe you just want to do a Clause Search for where Jesus (implicitly or explicitly) is subject? Like below?

Hi Rick, thanks for your quick reply. The search does work with using the Clause approach, thank you.
However, for my example where Jesus is the subject and the verb-lemma is θαυμαζω, in addition to Matthew 8:10, Mark 6:6, and Luke 7:9; 2 Thessalonians 1:10 is included in the results. The Greek New Testament: SBL Edition is used for this search.
Is there a way to further refine the search to exclude 2 Thess 1:10 as in this case Jesus is not the agent or the subject as I understand it?

Hi Mario.
You can refine your search range (say, to the gospels) by clicking "All Passages".

Thanks again Rick. I have thought of using the range to restrict the search boundaries, but is there another way for examples where the subject is not restricted to Gospels writings?
It may be that method suggested is the right one/only one and the tagging of text was what cause the extra passage to be picked up. In other words, if there isn’t another way it probably means that clause search as the best method to accomplish the search.
Thank you.

You can create and Save your own range by typing into the "All Passages"/Range box e.g. type mt-John;Gal, click Save, Enter a name for the range.

Thanks Dave. I think that will do.
I've appreciated the promptness and helpfulness in this forum. Perhaps another request for your support will follow shortly. In the meantime, thank very much.
