Language question
Hi Logos community,
I am from Germany and the standard UI language in the Logos app is German. I want to understand, how the search functionality works in Logos.
I have resources in German and English. When I search for the German word „love“ = Liebe, do I then only get results from „Liebe“ and only within my German resources?
The same question with other direction: are all languages linked to each other, so for example, when I search for love, I get all articles in German for Liebe and all articles in English for love?
This relates to the search functionality, but also for the fact book.

That depends. If you search for the word, i.e. the character-string, then you are correct. If you search for the sense (which is a Logos tagging applied to bibles with a reverse interlinear), or for sermon topics, then it should work cross-languages

Here you go...
Factbook tags are applied to passages in all types of resources. All passages that deal with the concept of love receive the tag, irrespective of language. The German resources come first, because I'm currenly on the German UI, and the English resources come next. The order switches around when on the English UI. Same principle for encyclopedias, sermon topics, systematic theologies etc.

Here you go - I did your example from above, searching the sense (in German UI called: "Wortbedeutung"), actually one of the three senses of love.
you'll see English and the first of several German language bibles, subsequent hits will also be Greek, Latin etc. bibles and some non-bibles that have the sense tagging.Have joy in the Lord!
