Confused with the price of the Master Journal 9.1

This morning I received an email from Logos introducing the Master Journal 9.1 and I immediately went to order the upgrade as I have done each time. I've ordered the newest version every time and each time my dynamic price was around $20 so I was shocked when I read that my dynamic price for 9.1 is $68.46 (Being Canadian this means that my price is $92.76.)

I thought something strange was going on so I went back to my order history and discovered I had ordered 8.3 for $21.25 and I received an email on December 15 saying that is was about to ship on December 29th. I never gave it a second thought but, after contacted customer service today, I was told that it was cancelled. It was disappointing that I didn't get an email telling me so and that I had to figure it out for myself.

Anyhow, I was left with a poor taste in my mouth about this. I was trying to keep up to date and $20ish every quarter is reasonable to me but close to $70 for the next update is a huge jump. Customer service also just said that it cost more because there are more volumes. That may be true but it was still a bit of a shock. Was anyone else shocked by this?

Thanks for hearing me express my frustration with this. Can anyone help me make sense of what is happening?

I am going to try and stay with the smaller  "Galaxie’s Theological Journal Library" updates.

I had seen that previously before Faithlife officially responded so thanks for pointing me to that.

My concern still stands that the increased dynamic price from 8.2 to 9.1 is very steep. Personally, I'm going to have to think long and hard about spending that much to keep the Master Journal bundle up to date. It is just disappointing and not what I expected.

Hi Bruce, thanks for posting your questions.  I wanted to confirm a couple of points for you as you make your decision on whether or not to purchase.  Your new price is effectively for two cycles of updates 8.3 & 9.1  I can confirm all that was scheduled to be released in 8.3 is contained in 9.1 along with even more new resources.  One other change we had to make last year was moving away from quarterly releases per year down to three.  Again, not trying to push you to purchase, I just want to give you as much information as possible as you make the decision.  Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for responding Mitch. I didn't realize that Faithlife has moved to 3 cycles per year as that helps.

I can see that the combination of changing the cycles from 3 to 4 times/year and missing the production of 8.3 has caused this issue. It's too bad that they both happened at the same time as the overall price increase is just a bit hard to swallow all at once.

Bruce - I saw the price for 9.1 and I had the same questions.  I was expecting something around $40 since my cost has been about $20 each time and the December upgrade didn't happen.

As long as the annual cost is for 3 x/year is close to the annual 4x/year cost, then I'll continue upgrading.  If the price jumps too much, then I'll have to reconsider.

Bruce I wasn't shocked by this because Beth answered my post when 8.3 just disappeared. She explained what happened and said 8.3 and 9.1 will be combined.
