Bible Search and Verse Numbers

When performing Bible text searches, including Greek and Hebrew OT, Logos only returns verse numbers for the original search text. However, the comparable verses in the Greek and Hebrew Old Testaments frequently disagree. So, if you searched in one of these languages, you cannot determine if the other verses are from the same Bible. As a result, you must frequently verify each one manually. All search results that include Greek or Hebrew versions must have all verse titles typed out. I remember it was not always like this. I have the box for "chapter/verse numbers" checked. How do I fix this?

Verse mapping generally handles this automatically. When you need to handle it manually, you do so by specifying the verse mapping the reference applies to and Logos does the rest.

If you Search NABRE for "in peace" in Psalms it will return Ps 4:9 and Ps 55:19. If you align that with ESV using Add Versions and hover the highlighted text, it will show you Psalm 4:8 | ESV and Psalm 55:18 | ESV. If you then Add the LHB it will show the same verse numbers as NABRE.

If you Search for bible.bhs:="Psalm 55:19" in various books, it will return Ps 55:18 where applicable or something like "55:19 [—Eng 18]". You will get more results with bible:="Psalm 55:19"; which will sometimes return "Psalm 55:20 [—Eng 55:19]".

The main variations arise between the Hebrew OT and translations.

Dave answered this but I'll repeat: It is done automatically. If you are using a mapping other than that of your default Bible, you specify the map.
