Separate Outlines for POSB

I like the POSB, but in Logos everything seems to be crammed up together (outlines & commentary).  Could the outlines be separated in a separate module.  WORDsearch formatted it that way and is extremely helpful.  Even the competition saw the usefulness of that and followed WORDsearch’s footsteps.  It’d be nice if Logos could do the same.

Logos formatting has always been terrible on this resource.

Agreed. I dont use these in Logos right now because of this.

    Bump!

Ps. I’ve seen some new books in prepub that say “WORDsearch version” maybe you can do a WORDsearch version of the POSB to include the outlines in a separate module 👍😁👌

I just found out that even Olive Tree has the POSB with the outlines as a separate module.  Come on Faithlife, you guys screwed up the Complete Word Study Bible by moving away from the format of the print version out of convenience sake. Why can’t you do the same for the POSB to improve it by having the outlines on a separate module?

    Please, reconsider!

Dal.... Do you use the sidebar table of contents in POSB? I find with that, with the table of contents I can scroll to "Outline" of the book quickly.

Here's what I normally do.  I have a layout whereby I have the POSB linked "A" to my trusty ole NKJV which is linked to "A".  I find that when I go to say, "Hebrews" and scroll in my NKJV, then in just a short scroll the "outline" of Hebrews shows in POSB. I admit, it may be improved upon, but it works.

xn = Christan man=man -- Acts 11:26 "....and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch".

Thanks, xnman! I’ll give that a try.  Better than jumping back and forth from one page back to the outline.

I finally got around to trying it, but unfortunately, only the main divisions and main subpoints are showing.  The sub-sub points are not and that's what marks a huge difference when having the outlines separated like Wordsearch, Accordance and Olive Tree have done it.

For now, I'll keep using this resource in Accordance in order to take full advantage of it.  Thanks, though,

I wanted to bump this thread again.

This is an expensive resource and in my opinion Logos negated its value by putting it into such a sloppy format.

I agree completely with the others that have commented on this.

Logos, please make the outlines a separate resource again like it was when WORDSEARCH published it.

I totally agree! The worst part is they claim they want to keep it as close as possible to the print version, yet they are inconsistent because they have not done that 100% with other resources.

I hope they can take the time to separate them as it will make the resource more useful.

I totally agree. I kept a copy of my Wordsearch program just to use the outline portion. Unfortunately I had to reset my pc and lost it.

Come on LOGOS learn and add a separate book just for the posh outlines and put them under book or sermon outlines.

You are aware of Bible Outline Browser interactive (yes I have pushed for updates and implementing the more detailed outlines) and the 3 outline guide sections - outline, thematic outline, sermon outline - assume. What did the WordSearch outline feature provide that is not in Logos?

See my picture on my original post.  The POSB in Wordsearch, Olive Tree and Accordance separated the actual outlines that come with the resource to make them usable.  It is not a feature.

I'll admit that the most interesting outlines are on the to-do list but what you show is suspiciously like:

I think the most effective approach is to push for a more comprehensive coverage in the outline tool. I went so far as to volunteer to provide the data ... one employee said yes, one employee said no.

See Data issue: Logos (esp. Mark Branes) we have a problem re: Bible outline browser - Logos Forums

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I see where you’re coming from, but these outlines are unique, exclusive to the POSB and provide a map of the actual resource that can actually be used for preaching the book.  It also contains outlines for topical studies within POSB.

A wouldn't consider these characteristics as unique ... the relationship of the book to the outline varies widely between books. It would be nice to have additional links in the browser but I'd been concerned that it might set the maintenance of the dataset even further back.

This is outside the Bible Outline Browser as it does not support topical outlines - only Bible text outlines.

MJ.... I'm not damon....but will try to answer at least part of it.... Open your bible to Acts 1. Then open Bible Outline Browser (BOB) and type in Acts. Can you find POSB in the 30 outlines listed in the TOC of BOB?

Edit: The same holds true for Hebrews.
