BUG: Wrong Strong's Number in Proverbs 8:24
I hope that I have put this in the right place. If not, please help me put it where it belongs. thank you.
I have Logos 9.
I think there may be an error in my logos for the Strong's Concordance, and I don't know who to tell or what to do?
Here is where I think there is an error:
I am studying Proverbs 8:24
Proverbs 8:24 KJV+ When there were noH369 depths,H8415 I was brought forth;H2342 when there were noH369 fountainsH4599 aboundingH3513 with water.H4325
The above scripture was copied from my E-sword. As you can see the Hebrew # for "brought forth is H2342.
The Number that Logos gives for 'brought forth' is H3176.
If this is not an error, will someone please explain to me what is going on? Thank you.
I have been told that this is an error and to post it here.

Thanks. It's a data issue. We have a case to look at that particular lemma.

Thank you.
I also found out that according to blueletterbible.org, Proverbs 8:25 and 25:23 have Strong's #H2342; whereas Logos has #H3176.
Additionally, blueletterbible.org gives the Hebrew #2342 for the words "that formed' in Proverbs 26:10: Logos has the number #H2490.
I thought that I would let you know.

I posted this twice because I was afraid that I would accidently delete the entire thread.

Thanks. As I mentioned above there is an issue with our alignment of the lemma חיל
As for Proverbs 26:10: There are difference of opinions on the translation. Some use "wound" and others use "formed". Our data prefers the former, hence a different Strong's number.
I did make a note to explore whether or not we can make a distinction between translations who prefer one translation over the other.0 -
I had not noticed this before.... but it seems to me that there is a huge difference between the NKJV and the ESV in Proverbs 26:10.

This is due to the use of at least two words in the verse that have various meanings in Hebrew:
— rab could mean “archer,” or “master,” or “great one,” or “much.”
— měḥôlēl: could mean “wound” or “bring forth.”
Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. - Colossians 3:14

Thanks. After I had posted I went to digging and came up with the same thing. Thanks again.
Edit: When such happens in scripture, and it seems to happen a lot, then we must look to the context of the verse, within the chapter within the book. Context means everything in scripture.

This is where we need George to post:
I strongly recommend hiding any interlinear that comes with whatever package you purchase. Interlinears actually prevent your learning the language.
And I would go even further with regards to Strong's numbers. The Logos tagging may lead to forgetting that there are alternative glosses, lemma, and senses which some translators may prefer.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

In my opinion, you would only hide the interlinear if you not only wanted, but had the time to learn the language.
