I am attempting to download the Greek and Hebrew keyboards on my desktop. I have a new one with Windows 11 installed. I went through the Logos process and unzipped them, but when it came to opening the file and doing the setup I got the statement "This app can't run on your PC." It also said, "to find a version for your PC, check with your software publisher." So does anyone know how to resolve this?

Thanks Jeff

Can't help with your specific problem, but if you need an alternative I have Tyndale's fonts which work great. You can switch between keyboards with ALT+Shift and Logos recognizes it all.

One caveat for installing keyboards in languages that you don't read: There is a step in the installation process where you are asked if you want this language to be your default language for Windows.

I answered wrong. Everything turned into Hebrew. I had to wipe my computer and reinstall Windows from scratch. Ugly.

    Yea Jack,

I am not going to do that. I started to change keyboard in windows settings, but they didn't have Hebrew and the Greek one's they had I wasn't sure of. I had it installed on my laptop and the keyboards worked well switching back and forth. I think I just need to find a version that is updated. And Logos doesn't support those keyboards they recommend anyway.

    Morgan,

Thanks, I downloaded the keyboards. The Greek works, the Hebrew shows up on the menu but will not open. Any Ideas? I can't find where there is a troubleshooter help or a link for help.

I'm in the same boat. Hebrew shows up under my keyboard options, but when I click on it, my pc freezes for a few seconds and then nothing happens and the language doesn't change to Hebrew. I wonder if it's a windows 11 compatibility issue?

I have these 4 Microsoft keyboards installed on Win11.

    Got them from https://www.logos.com/product/53264/original-languages-keyboards-for-windows

However, I tend to use Shibboleth (a deprecated utility) if only doing a word here or there in a paper - https://www.logos.com/grow/shibboleth_a_free_tool_for_typing_i/

Have you tried the builtin keyboard selector? (in  Program Settings > Show Keyboard Selector).

I had the same problem when trying to install the Hebrew keyboard tonight on a Windows 11 machine. I think it is a compatibility issue. Never had the issue on Windows 10 installs. By accident I found a way to get the keyboard working.

In Windows 11 go to Settings -> Typing -> Advanced keyboard settings

and there check the box that says 'Use the desktop language bar when it's available'.

Suddenly I was able to switch to Hebrew and use the Logos Keyboard layout. If you want you can change some options regarding the 'Windows Language Bar' in the same menu.

I hope this works for others too...it is not the prettiest solution, but if it works, it works.

I could not get the Logos keyboard to work properly after installing it, so I deleted it
    Windows > Settings > Time & Language > Language and Region > Greek > ... > Remove

Then reinstalled just the language pack, basic typing.

    Windows > Settings > Time & Language > Language and Region > Add a language > Greek >

Now when I press Alt+Shift, typing toggles between English and Greek, as expected.

That is also possible for Hebrew if you add Hebrew as a language and install the 'basic typing' feature. There are gonna be differences in the key mapping I suspect. For basic typing in Hebrew it wil suffice. But I am not sure if you can type all the cantillation marks etc. through the standard 'Windows Keyboard Layouts' for Hebrew. The Logos Keyboards have some special characteristics that make them useful for Biblical Studies.

You might also want to consider a program called Keyman, which is provided free of charge by SIL (Summer Institute of Linguistics). https://keyman.com/.  It has support and keyboards for over 2000 languages.  I've been using it for years.  My Greek keyboard is Polytonic Greek (SIL), and my Hebrew keyboard is Hebrew (SIL).  Easy to install, easy to switch keyboards, and most keyboards provide an on-screen keyboard.

They also have a program called Keyman Developer that allows you to create custom keyboards.

This may not be your cup of tea, but I think it's worth your time to check it out.
