I'll just quickly add how excited I am that Bill is our new CEO. Besides being a very accomplished businessman in the technology space, he's a gifted leader who builds strong teams by serving, inspiring, and motivating; he's kind, compassionate, and caring; and he's a biblical and spiritual man who is deeply aligned to our mission. I couldn't be happier to be serving under his leadership.

I know you're just getting your feet wet, but can you look into the possibility of upgrading getting a new platform for the forums by year end. This one loads too slow and feels dated.

Thanks for introducing yourself. You and your family will be in our prayers during this difficult time. Will you be working from Bellingham? It matters to me only in the sense that I live a couple of hours south of Bellingham and have made several trips to the campus.

To introduce myself, I am the whisper in your ear reminding you that Logos has growth opportunities in supporting the Oriental Orthodox churches in recent diaspora who are using ebooks as a way to keep the church together in exile; in supporting the progressive Christians and the peace churches both of which are underrepresented  in the libraries; and in supporting the mainline Protestant/liturgical churches where Logos has tried, with some failures, to support a style of Bible study that is not well understood by the Logos application. Occasionally I may step in to represent the non-Trinitarian and syncretic Christians.

Do enjoy your time heading up Logos ... you are facing many wonderful possibilities.

Thanks so much Bill for modelling transparency and servant leadership by putting yourself out there directly.

I think the community here will recongise you obviously can't be a copy of Bob Pritchett and you are a busy person, but this video clip will go a long way to establishing your season of leadership.

One of the things that I so deeply admired about Bob was his willingness to occasionally post on here and engage with customers, new and old.

This is not always seen in secular or even ministry oriented entities. In fact, I have seen it shut down and shunned in other Bible software forums, which is always sad because of the missed opportunity. It also makes change management hard, and in the lack of communication, conspiracy type of theories start to emerge.

Well done and we hope to see you again from time to time to understand your heart for the mission of Logos. I also know this will set the tone and amplify the efforts of Phil, Bradley and Mark, who have been very engaging as well. This is a great cultural trait. Bravo!

P.S. - Prayers said for your family just now.

TY Donovan!  I plan to engage with the forums, maybe not at the depth Bob did, but I love hearing the feedback and thoughtfulness of our users.  God Bless You!

Bill, thank you for your encouraging words.

Personally, as a pastor, the greatest benefit to me from Logos has been being able to do more in the same time I traditionally used for preparation, as well as being able to have a much vaster library to access with tools that make accessing these resources easy.

Over the years, Logos has advanced on two important fronts: better and faster research tools, and a wider array of resources. This has benefitted me and most of your users a great deal.

Logos has struggled with trying to be everything to everyone. The cost of resources keeps many people away. The complexity of the software (even with all Logos has tried to do to make it easer) has been a barrier to those wanting simple, basic Bible tools. While Logos has struggled with costly and complex, others have come in with inexpensive or free and fairly simple approaches. They aren't deep, but for most of my people, they are enough. These will be some of your challenges if you wish to greatly multiply Logos users., which I hope you can do.

Bill, thanks for your candor and passion. Truth is vitally important to the mission of the church and the message of the gospel which is the divine anointing of Jesus as our Savior and Lord.

Your words describing your reaction to your call to this post as leader as having leapt echoed the account of the prophet John and his response while still in the womb to his mission as forerunner to the Christ.

My hope is that you will lead this great company to fulfill its destiny to be a light in the corporate world a model of what a true Christian company should be about bringing the message of the good news to the entire world.

I welcome you and I look forward to your promise with joy.

Meanwhile, Jesus kept on growing wiser and more mature, and in favor with God and his fellow man.
