How to start over a brand new search in SmartSearch? It seems that retains the previous scope of search.
You can reset the scope of the search by clicking that scope to drop down the menu and choose a new scope:
Then select whatever you had searched for before and type in something new to replace it (or delete first and then type in the new thing), and hit Enter.
If I recall, there used to be a right-arrow that you could click on at the far right of the Search text box to execute a search, but I've always done the keyboard method (hitting Enter) so I frankly didn't notice when that arrow disappeared, but it does appear to be gone now. So use Enter.
