Hi, I have Logos 10 Silver and would like to get a certain package from the Logos 9 Legacy library/product line. However, for me it is very unclear what this means? What  features will not be available tor the books that come with the Logos 9 Legacy package?

    Shalom Jörg!

The legacy libraries are a very affordable way to add extra books to your Logos library. All the books that you buy will work with the software features that you already own (i.e. those that are included in the Logos 10 Silver feature set). The legacy libraries will not add any new features to your software installation but they can enhance the existing features. For example: a legacy library might add new commentaries to the Passage Guide, add reference works to Factbook, etc.

As another person responded, Legacy Libraries only include resources, not program features, and those resources work with newer versions of Logos.

Legacy Libraries are an incredible way to build your own library at relatively low prices (it's usually still more expensive than buying used books printed on paper, but your probably not using Logos if you want printed books). For example, Starter libraries are priced at $35, but include quite a few resources. Often, purchasing an entire Legacy Library is less expensive than purchasing a multi-volume series. I've had my eye on a commentary series that's priced at $500, but it's in a library (with a lot of other resources) that I can purchase for $255 on a normal day (and even less when on sale).

If you're new to Logos, you may not be familiar with dynamic pricing. When you buy a resource, that resource will be credited to you if you purchase a library or series that includes the same resource, so you're not paying for a book twice. For example, if you own the New Testament part of a commentary series and want to purchase the full set, you only have to pay for the Old Testament books; you won't be paying for the New Testament a second time.

When your buying something, always look at the section "This title is included in the following collections". You may find other resources in a library that interest you.
