Logos Pro Survey

Yesterday I received an email from Logos asking me to take a survey regarding Logos Pro. I'm assuming the email went out to all the Logos Pro subscribers, but I didn't know. I would encourage everyone who gets the email to take the survey. At the end of the survey there's an option to setup a call with a Logos rep to discuss Logos Pro; I encourage scheduling the call.

Logos is undergoing big changes this year, and I want to be one of the people who influences those changes. I don't need the features in Logos Pro (I was happy with the Logos 10 Starter features), but I upgraded to Logos 10 Full Feature Set and subscribed to Logos Pro so I could be a part of this. Here are some of my concerns and wishes.

1) Moving to subscriptions for new features. It has been clearly stated that people won't lose access to their purchased resources if they don't subscribe. Will the Logos 10 engine be the last one people can install? Will people have to use the web app if Logos 10 isn't supported on a future Operating System? Or does it mean everyone will have access to the latest Logos Desktop engine and continue to be able to use any purchased features? This makes people's feature sets frozen in time (what they had at their last purchase), but guarantees Logos will continue to work as people upgrade computer hardware and Operating Systems. I haven't seen any clear, unambiguous statement from Faithlife on this topic (maybe this has been made and I missed it).

2) Subscription prices. People who have been longtime users or who have invested a lot of money in Logos should automatically get a discount on the subscription costs. No "subscribe before" dates, sales, discount codes or talking to a sales person. Faithlife has dynamic pricing on resources, so they can add dynamic pricing for features.

3) Purchasable Feature Sets, like the traditional Logos Packages. I think it's important Faithlife continues to offer these for people who don't want or can't afford a subscription. Based on messages in the Logos forums and Facebook groups, Faithlife has already lost some sales because there hasn't been a clear statement on this. Not offering these could significantly affect Logos' reputation, as there will be some extremely vocal people making complaints.

4) Cancelling a subscription. This goes back to points 1 and 3. Faithlife reps have stated users won't lose access to their resources, but how will they be accessible? Web app only, or will there be a Desktop version? Will users be able to apply some part of what was spent on a subscription (say 50%) towards a purchasable feature set?

5) New features. For some new features, like AI, a subscription model is needed because there are significant ongoing costs to use the feature. On the other hand, some features or improvements should be added to even the free version. Yesterday I was wishing I could add resources to a collection from the library and/or add tags to a resource when working with collections (I did vote for these in the Logos suggestions forums). These are both minor, but useful, features that everyone should have.

6) Prioritize improving existing features over adding new ones. This is supposed to be one of the benefits of a subscription model, but I'll believe it when I see it.

7) Prioritize completing missing volumes of resource sets (e.g. commentaries) over adding new resources. I don't recall seeing any statement from Faithlife about this.

I wish it were two separate lines of products.  Maybe it will be.

My opinion is that Logos would profit most from making both models available rather than one for the plethora of reasons found on the forums. Like Logos Now, etc., there would be some who would want that subscription model. I don't think the current level of gadgety AI integration will add enough seasoning to the pot to make it more palatable.

In a word(s) just finish what we have started. For that, I would pay.

I didn't receive the email. Could you give me the title so I can try to find it here? I'm getting a flood of emails from the forum because of the posts.

We’re so glad it worked for you! And we’d like to understand more about how you’re using it. What are you enjoying most? What could we improve? Your feedback helps us make it better.

Please answer a few quick questions in this 5-minute survey. Have a lot to say? Take your time and know we’ll read every response.

(I'm presuming the link to the survey is different for each person, so I won't include it here.)

I used one of the links here on the forums, received an email and then while speaking to a Customer Service agent today, he sent another email for the survey.

I requested each time to be contacted and even mentioned it to Customer Service that I'd like to be contacted - guess I'm on the Do Not Contact list LOL

There was a day that you didn't have to ask multiple times, Managment consistently contacted users who requested it and many times just because they wanted to address a concern they saw a user upset with in the Forums....

BTW, today's CSR had no idea about what I was told yesterday; that an announcement was coming soon - his latest and he checked while I was on the phone - is back to the research and gathering of Feedback is being discussed....
