I've been asking "Customer Support" for a URL/link which would list other new items as they are released. CS seems unwilling or unable either to understand the question, or to provide an answer.

You might appreciate that the proposed subscription (starting with Early Access) is in a state of transition, but the Release Notes in the Logos Desktop App Forum is the traditional way to communicate feature updates and fixes as they occur. You can view a Release History, though, at https://wiki.logos.com/Logos_Release_Notes and this includes a link to the Beta Release Notes where you can see what is currently being tested before Release. For "Early Access" features you should start with the v.32.0 Release and the current v34 Beta.

Part of what I'm keen to see is the actual benefit of having a subscription compared with... not. The Release Notes don't make clear what has already been implemented for subscribers, and what non-subscribers must wait for.

We don't know whether a single "Release Update" will be provided for subscribers only, but the Release Notes from v32 onward do clarify what has been implemented for Early Access subscribers (under the Logos Pro heading). In general, FL have yet to provide details of what non-subscribers can expect in the future!

While the Release Notes can be helpful for changes and additions to the Logos engine, have they added the ability to see what books a user gains? I know I made the suggestion a few times, as showing a list isn't as valuable as having the Hide Owned option allowing a user contemplating if the price is worth it, to see what resources they would gain.

My suggestion is to go for the free trial. Then when you update your Logos you can look in the library for resources updated today but not yet on your device.

But Pro is much more than resources. Yes, I was glad I picked up the Lexham Research commentaries and one or two others, but I'm excited about the improved searching and sermon improvements.

You'll really only be able to make a good decision if you take the free trial. I like it and have decided to subscribe.

'Normal' companies ballyhoo their new deals. Explain how customers can monitor the unbelievable value! Not dynamite their business model, and then let the customers wonder for 6 months.

As far as I know, I can't even test the new thing ... I'm missing some features I don't want. How's that for irony. And come Sept (?), ditto, probably. Which is fine, for me.

Right on that this has been a very odd situation. Best I can figure, the reason they did it this way wasn't primarily because of a grand plan to ease customers into the new business model and make for a smooth transition (if so, I'd say they did a poor job). Rather, I believe they genuinely wanted/needed input to help them in the decision-making process. In a way, it shows weakness to expose their cards in the way that they did and leave customers scratching their heads as to what's going on. But from a different perspective it may also show that they have a genuine interest to do the right thing for their user base.

When my mind drifts back to this subject--which is less and less often with the passage of the weeks--I wonder what prompted them to try this again. They had a subscription service that promised new features of Logos NOW--it was called, appropriately enough, "Logos Now." And then they downgraded it because too difficult. Now they're promising the same thing again. What will be different this time?

They are promising new features as the come available rather than every six weeks. And their expenses for 3rd party services has changed.

"IF" you qualify for "early access" you'll be able to see the page that describes the "early access" program. If you don't then all you will see is a text-box that will allow you to input your e-mail address to be notified when Logos Pro becomes readily available.

You will need to read the original announcement post to see what qualifies. (Basically already own the L10 Full Feature Pack or subscribe to Faithlife connect at the proper level.) If you qualify you can see the page HERE.

Talking the talk is easy but walking the talk is not easy. Many firms talk the talk but don't walk the talk. Agree. Faithlife's approach to business planning, is bulldoze ahead, run over the customers, back up.

Remember when L4 shipped and Bob was seriously arguing for notes no lengthier than you'd put in your Bible. I really don't know why he made that argument ... vs just say 'notes are next'.

I am using common knowledge on the way private equity firms behave after they buy a firm in order to highlight what to expect. God didn't ask us to park our knowledge in the garage while having conversations.

If you are walking on a dark alley in New York at 2 am and you see a person who looks like a mugger, will you try to escape the place or will you try to have a conversation with the expected mugger? I know you didn't assume good will on the part of the mugger because you won't be alive today to have this conversation.

Like others, I signed up for "Early Access" to the Logos Pro subscription plan. Apparently, subscribers will be given early access to new updates, features, etc. as they are released. So far, I think the only new items I have received are those promised in the original announcement. (It turned out that of the 400 new books promised, I already had permanent licences for 240!)

May I respectfully suggest that as part of the roll-out of the subscription regime, that Logos provide a subscriber updates page which is updated whenever a new feature, bug fix, etc. is released? If one already exists, please let us know where to find it.

I subscribed yesterday for the finally “30 days trial”! I already owned 337 of the 400. I hope they do a “no library subscription” like FL Connect.

One of my measures for how to treat other people comes from my Dad. My Dad was a teetotaler; the neighbor was a full-fledged bachelor alcoholic. It was winter in a sparsely populated county with the farms on dirt or gravel roads. It had snowed, drifted, and frozen so the roads were bad. Night one: neighbor drives into town to drink; drive home drunk but goes off the road a bit less than a mile from my folks. Dad gets up, pulls him out of the ditch and sends him on his way. Night two, a repeat - only where he went off the road changed. Night three: same story except he left his car in the ditch and walked nearly four miles home. The next morning, Dad sees that the neighbor's car was in the ditch, pulls it out and delivers it to him. And tells the drunk that no matter how embarrassed he was, he should have awakened Dad again because Dad needed to know he could also ask the neighbor for help when needed no matter how embarrassing it might be.

How does that relate to forum communication? Dad's measure of "good neighbor" was always looking one step ahead, not just what you said or did this time, but how it sets the stage for next time. Not just asking if what you say now is permissible but how it sets up the next exchange whether in this thread or three months from now. I'll take Dad over Tim Keller (who is nothing to me except a name I've heard).

I've been thinking about your Dad's story over the last day, and I genuinely appreciate it. Thank you for sharing. I agree that this wisdom is very relevant for forum communication. After all, the forums exist primarily for people to help each other out and maximize our Logos experience. I will try to apply this wisdom to my own communication going forward.
