Correct. They used to be very tempting to buy. I never got them because I could not sink that into a single purchase. That is due to my monthly income. Now it is just an repulsive and distateful price. Hopefully this will change soon for those who like to get this bundle.

Ok, I'll be the odd one out. The Academic one is finally worthwhile. Especially the Greco-Roman journal. The last few bundles have been pretty empty (but cheap).

I just looked at my purchase history. With the exception of this last update (the one just shipped) there was only one in the $60 range.

three in the $20 range and three in the $30 range.

All of the rest were either in the teens or under. That "in the teens" dollar range is more what I would expect as an update price. Even the $30 range would be more palatable.

Yes, that’s my price as well. The problem isn’t the amount of time that the updates cover (2 quarters instead of one), it’s the number of issues included. The prepub price typically came in around $1/resource prior to bundle 9. Now the price seems to have more than doubled with only 19 new resources being included in the 9.2 update. Some of the new resources are quite expensive, which are driving the price up, I.e. the $36 issue of A Prophet to the Peoples: Paul Farmer’s Witness and Theological Ethics, and the $31-$32 issues of Journal of Greco-Roman Christianity and Judaism.

If I remember correctly, prior to this last update, the cost was under $20 every 3 months (80/year). 60+ every 4 months would be about $190 a year. This seems like a hefty increase. I'm not sure I want to continue at that price.

Yes, what you are missing (or more correctly just didn't know) is that I have been keeping up with ALL of the updates to the Master Bundle.
I understood the last price of 60-something being due to 8.3 being canceled and rolled into 9.1.

I didn't understand the inclusion of some very high prices volumes in this batch. At least I did not care for the price.

I was writing off the difference of your price to mine as possibly being an academic discount. I was unaware of the previous release/availability of the four volumes for the "Journal of Greco-Roman Christianity and Judaism". I now find that I have volume 14. It looks like I picked it up back in early march of this year for $8.00 so it had to be a part of the monthly sale.

Anyway because of my history with the Master Journal Bundle I was expecting a price in the $15-$30 dollar range.

I had bought the Galaxie journals a number of years earlier when they were on cd, so that lowered the price for me. Then I purchased the Academic Bundle and finally the Master journal collection. I know that probably wasn't the cheapest way to do it, but buying it in pieces worked for me.

Also, remember you can get the Themelios journals for free with the coupon code. It won't lower the price a lot, but every bit helps. Logos doesn't allow codes to be posted on their forum, but it has been posted at times. Plus, it's not too hard to guess.

That is what I did. I had collected some journals through various means and had bought the Galaxie offering, so when the Master Journal package went on a good sale, I bought it. Now I have been just keeping it up.

I am a big fan of journals. You get thinking that may take some time to appear in a commentary or monograph, it is a shorter length read and some journals are really useful for following their focus. The new AI summarize makes it a breeze to scan results too.

I would be very happy to see more come to Logos. In particular, archaeology would be nice. Though more of a magazine, I miss not having more current issues of Biblical Archaeology Review.

No way! Cuz when I buy 'em I own 'em. On the other hand, a subscription might be cheaper per year. No, I don't like that other hand. I was born in the West and I like to OWN stuff. When I go to Heaven, I'm taking Logos with me.

I did miss a purchase cycle, which bumped me up double. Panic!

Hm. Not to sidetrack this thread to something that was discussed to death, but I must admit that regarding resources, I'm usually a buyer. But I didn't buy journals back over ten years ago when they might have been affordable. So most of the journals I own came bundled in base packages - and even considering those amount to a sizable four-digit number now, my dynamic sale price for the Master Journal Bundle 9.2 would be over $2,000.

That's roughly equivalent to twenty years of subscription to the Galaxie Journal bundle - so in this case I'm a happy subscriber. Actually I feel that subscription is the only economically viable way to get access at all in this case.

I started my journal journey on the WORDSearch platform with the Galaxie bundle from them.
Then on the LOGOS side I picked up even more with the purchase of base packages that included journals.

Finally in May of 2018 I finally sprung for the full Master Journal Bundle. That was version 3.1 and I have just kept going since then.

I also try to keep up with Galaxie's offering. The most expensive one so far after WordSearch was under $19.00 with all of the rest being less that $12.00. But then this is trying to compare apples to oranges.

Depends on the Greco-Roman price index. For a while, the index was rising year after year (about 3% per annum). Then, suddenly the index dropped thru the floor.

I guess we have to wait and see,
