Chromebook vs Mac
I am thinking about buying my wife a Chromebook. How can I compare the Mac she is used to to Chromebook app?

Welcome to the forums!
The Mac runs the full Logos desktop app. The Chromebook will run the web app only. The web app doesn't have all the features of the desktop app. Also, your resources on a Chromebook are in the cloud; you can't download them to the Chromebook.

If I might hazard a guess Tedd. If your wife is used to the operation of a Mac she is likely to be frustrated by the lack of power and utility from a Chromebook.

Mmmh. I know in some Germans schools they have banned Chromebooks are they always send all to Google.
I would take another option.

It depends. If she just uses a Mac the way most people do, a Chromebook will be fine — and perhaps even better.
If she is a power user, she may find the ability to run Linux desktop apps to be a plus — if she can live with the Logos web app.

she is definitely not a power user. She is Logos, Facebook, email, Amazon/shopping, etc.
She wants something small and lightweight, and budget friendly as I recently got laid off. The mac is 12 years old and getting very tired and Logos can be a heavy load at times. iPad is also an option.
I had an iPad mini and that was way too small to make Logos effective, if you are note taking AND using resources during sermons. That's how she likes to run her set up.

If you want to try it out, just go here and download ChromeOS Flex which allows you to run the Chromebook operating system on most modern computers by booting from a flash drive.
