Our eyes thank you.
Nice 👍 Thank you! www.amazon.com/dp/1784424447 <~~~ And when you open the link people who copy and paste the link to share they won’t have to shorten the link because you already sent them the shortened version that becomes available when they open the page. I went to the page and copied the link and the short version came up automatically 👌

This is great. Thanks Rosie once again for saving the day.
BTW, you don't have to do it manually. I found an even better way to do it!
https://linkcleaner.app/
This works for cleaning up all kinds of URLs that come with garbage after them (e.g., links to articles shared on Facebook with fbclid= ...), and it knows how to do Amazon ones specifically (knows that the book title can be removed). Another similar site doesn't do that bit properly.

To be honest, I never considered this problem before reading this thread. But it makes perfect sense. Thank you for helping me to improve my forum manners.
Or, if you use a browser like Brave, it's just there as an option in the menu.
When it stood out to me most was when I was perusing the Feedback site looking for recent entries to consider voting for. I couldn't even see the preview of the first couple of lines of the suggestions (which often include some background on the book or defense of why it would be good to get in Logos) because the long ugly URLs were in the way.
Thanks. There are also extensions to most other browsers that will give them similar functionality. This is from ChatGPT:
Thanks for this great info.
Or, for any URLs not just Amazon, just delete everything from the question mark '?' on - it's not needed for page location, it's usually source/marketing info on where the link came from. So this:
Can easily become this:
https://www.amazon.com/Church-Curiosities-Strange-Objects-Bizarre/dp/1784424447/ref=sr_1_52
Not quite as short but a lot faster to do!

If you paste the link into https://linkcleaner.app/ it comes back completely cleaned up. Very quick, and you don't even need to look for the question mark. I have that site bookmarked on my browser toolbar now.
I don’t think links to competitors should be allowed on a forum sponsored by Logos, especially Amazon.
Some people who want the book in Logos put up a 'Vote For.' Showing it in Amazon showcases it for me, giving more data upon which to decide whether I would purchase it, + so leading to an informed decision as to upvote yes or no.
I like the Amazon jump.
I have stated on the forums that Logos's maintenance of its catalogue is erratic. Sometimes: no author, no sample, no reviews, no book length. I have to search past Logos's ineptitude. The first place I go: Amazon.ca. Second: Amazon.com.
Rosie is referring to links for the Feedback board, not the forums. If we don't provide links to an external site, how will Logos know what book/edition we're requesting? Amazon is usually the easiest route for this.
Thank you both for the clarification!
