Opinions Wanted: PB-Denver Annotated Bibliographies/Recommendations

All of the links in the personal book: Denver Annotated OT and NT Bibliographies/Recommendations, are of the L4 "logosres:productid" type. These only open in the desktop software, and maybe the mobile app if you tried to open a link on mobile.

I am thinking of changing all citations to the URL format, which is more universal and would open them in the web app or the desktop app.

I guess I'm thinking though that since Personal Books are only available on desktop/full app, then it really wouldn't add any benefit to have links open via the web app, since the user is already sitting at the computer using the desktop app.

Is there any benefit that you can see to me changing the links to the URL format?

Is this something that would require manual tweaking? If you could automate it, that would be great; otherwise, it seems like a long effort.

However, isn't there still value in the document and its links if one opens the doc in Word or something like that? That would make it quite useful with the URLs..

I believe the document is highly accessible as it is. This document has helped many people in just the small time I have been in Logos. I would not do it unless it would be less time consuming as Lew states above. The URLs are helpful because they would be easily found in research.

Yes, it would be a manual process. I'm out for the summer from teaching, so I'm looking to fill my time with projects, so now would be a good time.

I like your thoughts on using the document itself outside of the desktop app, for instance if it was converted to a pdf. That would make the URLs more useful outside of the desktop Windows/Mac environment.

I agree Joseph. It would increase the usability of the document. I have used the annotated bibliographies many times in my Bible studies and personal studies in seminary and elswhere.

I will see if I can get it done before the end of the summer. I think it's worth the trouble.
