Concerns re: Factbook Bible Passage Commentary section

This is a nice edition and the ability to set boundaries other than pericope boundaries works well and is a very useful addition especially where pericopes are long. However, I have two concerns:

I miss the overview of the resource on hover over the cover image. Knowing the actual name of the commentary often tells me whether or not I want to open it and some short forms, e.g. LCC, mean nothing to me
What is the justification for renaming the "priority" as "book"(?) and changing the order of the options? This requires additional intentionality on the part of the user which I don't appreciate. Note "book" to me implies by title; "priority" implies I can control the order.

The implementation in the Passage Guide was sorting by priority, but not grouping by priority. We wanted to add a label to the selector, to make it clearer what was happening, but with that label, "Priority" can no longer be used, because we're not grouping by priority.

As for the grouping, we followed the precedent from Search rather than the precedent from the Passage Guide.

I agree with M.J. In addition to overview of the resource, I would like the popup preview of the commentary itself returned.

Sorry Mark, I'm a bit slow on the uptake. I don't understand. What was the problem with using the term priority or using prioritized? Books seems quite vague. I guess I'll get use to its as long as I understand they are from my prioritized list.

I'm completely confused . If PG "Priority" was not grouping by priority then the conclusion would be that "Priority can no longer be used, because we're not grouping by priority".

AFAIK Factbook is "sorting" more-or-less, by priority. In Mt 24:1-46 it misses one commentary after the first, seems ok for the next 10, then it misses one and inserts a commentary that is not in priority. Then I don't know what it is doing!!

That popup should still be there for downloaded books, but won't be there for cloud books. Does that match your experience?

So, it's up to the user to figure out whether clicking on any tab will just sort, or group and sort. The behavior between tabs was actually inconsistent. If you clicked on "Priority", we'd sort but not group. But if you clicked on series (or anything else), we'd both sort and group.

In Factbook, we added a label to this tab bar, called "Group by" to make it clearer what the tabs do, and to bring it inline with search. As a consequence, it would no longer be correct to have a tab called "Priority" because we are not grouping by priority, we are only sorting by priority. So we chose to name the tab "Books", as we've done in search, because we are grouping by books.

An alternative would be to change the label to "Sort by", and restore the name "Priority".

We may bring other sorting options to the Book tab in the future. That is even more of a reason to keep the name "Books", of course.

Do you have any evidence that the sort option which included grouping where logically possible caused any user confusion? I think you are overthinking this one. "Books" to me means title. Priority is something users have to guess on ... I would like Logos to explicitly label lists "priority" when priority is used as it is useful to know if one can control the order.

I'm still confused about the why, but thats okay, I'll muddle that over awhile.

let me ask a few different questions.

Are the books that populate under the "Books" tab suppose to represent the highest prioritized bible commentaries, bible notes, and study bibles,etc, in my library prioritized list? Is that what you are saying here in this quote or does priority mean something else?

I thought the tabs were the grouping, and sorting is what happened when the tab was opened and the list it produced was a prioritized list by either prioritized books from my library or by relevant books with the highest to lowest number of hits within each book.

What then is the definition of sorting and grouping in this context?

Will the books tab be sorted and grouped or is it supposed to be now?
