I downloaded Logos to a new laptop, but the books did not download. I cannot open the program, even though the program says it is up to date. How do I download the books if all I get is the splash screen for a few seconds and then nothing?

    How did you install Logos?

You should create a new thread and provide relevant info. In addition to Dave's question, what OS? What do you mean by "then nothing?" A crash? You should post logs (see my signature line).

That part of the statement has me wondering if the installer is being run again, rather than the Logos Program - running the installer after the program is installed would give the up to date response.

Is there a place where the installer for a previous version can be downloaded?

What problems are you having that you want to do this, and what version did you want to install?

Faithlife only have a web page to install the current version.

I'm not having any problem. I just want to keep the ability to stick with a version that works in the future. I have an Intel iMac which
will eventually lose support for iOS updates. Every time there is an update, I want to keep the ability to revert back to an older version if needed.

Looks like L10 is a mature product and new features and development are likely to be AI related. I may not want to stay on the upgrade bandwagon.

I did find this link: https://wiki.logos.com/Installation_and_Indexing_Questions#What_is_the_direct_link_to_Logos_installers.3f

But for some reason the version numbers on the .EXE do not match the latest installation.

I find it frustrating when any company makes it difficult or impossible to locate and install older versions which were known to be good.

In theory, Logos will not download an update if the OS is unsupported. But you can prevent software updates by typing set update channel to manual in the Command Box. Undo that with set update channel to stable

You have to be on a subscription (Early Access Logos Pro currently) to get AI features and other new features.

The online web based installer never installs anything except the latest version, therefore is of no value for someone who wants to make sure they can still install the current version in the future for any reason.

The link I posted (a page you edited [:)] ) allows version 9 to still be downloaded. But what if I needed a version that still ran on Windows 7?

The archived downloads provide the latest Logos download version validated for a specific version of an OS, before Logos 10. If you wish to download the current version of Logos 10+ in the future, you will have to save its dmg file on Mac. For Windows one saves the msi file at %localappdata%\logos\install\installers.  You install older versions at your own risk.

If you wish to preserve the current version (prevent updates), use set update channel to manual.
