Logos not syncing properly between devices
I have noticed that my laptop is not fully syncing tags I have made on my desktop. In case this was a problem on the desktop, I checked my mobile app and the tags are showing up correctly there. So the issue seems to be with the laptop. I tried restarting Logos on the laptop, but the problem is still there. And the sync icon is (on all devices) saying that synchronisation is enabled and all items are up to date.
Any suggestions?

Thanks.
I am not an expert, but I took a look. Can you explain what you mean by "not fully syncing tags?"
My understanding is that you created tags on Computer 1 and that some of the tags are not on Computer 2. Is that right? Was the tag "new books?"
You might need to rebuild a .db file... but I would wait for a full fledge techie to chime in.

...
Was the log from your laptop? Were the tags created in the Notes tool?
I could not find any persistent sync error in the log and there were no sync items for Notes in the current log (12 June). There was a Notes sync error on 6 June, but it would appear that it is not persistent. So provide details of the tags.
What happens if you create/change tags on the laptop (do they sync)?

Yes, that's correct.

Related to that tag. E.g., on Computer 1 (C1) I am working through books more recently acquired that need tagging. To make sure they don't get lost in the library before getting fully tagged, I tag them all as "new-book". I then work through them, removing the "new-book" tag when finished with that resource.
E.g., there were 14 books by FF Bruce with the "new-book" tag on both Cs. Working on C1, I added the desired tags to those 14 books, and then removed the "new-book" tag. However, those 14 books are still showing up on C2 without the new tags and still with the "new-book" tag.

Yes, the logs were from the laptop since that is where the problem is showing. The tags were not created in the Notes tool - the problem is in the library.
Interestingly, I recently created two new layouts on C1, and they are showing up correctly on C2 (laptop). So, there is some syncing working correctly.

And I checked on this one; yes, tag changes on the laptop are syncing to the desktop.

It sounds to me like a corrupted db file. What do you think Dave?

- On desktop I'd like you to add 1 unique tag to a book you don't use i.e it has to be opened.
- Note the tag name, the time and the book's LLS id from the Information page.
- upload logs with Logos still running.
- go to laptop ASAP and let Logos sync
- search for the tag
- upload logs with Logos still running.

I could not find the tag value in the laptop log, but it looks as if it received the update from desktop?

No, the same items are still not tagged correctly. It's like it missed certain tags in a past sync doesn't know it. Which doesn't make sense with a computer, I know.

Try changing them in the desktop and then reverting to the original value. Keep logging active in case it does not work.

Done, but nothing changed on the laptop. There seem to be around 70 resources that aren't tagging correctly, but not sure which ones these are. So I just chose one that I knew wasn't right, FF Bruce's Study Bible Commentary on Acts.
Here are the new logs:
Desktop:
Laptop: 0410.Logos - Laptop.zip

Okay, I kept getting an error message when I tried to attach the desktop logs.
However, two hours after making those tag changes, the laptop has finally updated correctly, including removing the "new-book" tag. Not sure why it didn't update correctly earlier this morning.

There was a fair bit of metadata sync and failures to rebuild the library catalog index.
Please upload a screenshot of the folder at C:\Users\euseb\AppData\Local\Logos\Data\bcorhhmh.dwg\LibraryCatalog.

That address didn't work, but I found it and here it is:
That is in the log you identified as desktop. However, it has anomalies and you can safely delete all the files dated earlier than 18/6/2024 (18 June 2024).
You can re-index the Catalog if you then delete the last six files (the top 3 are the Catalog database) and restart Logos.
I still need to see the laptop Catalog folder, but you could re-index it even if the usual 9 files are present.

I did this, but I'm not sure it was a proper re-index as it only lasted a short time. I don't remember the command for doing a complete re-index...

Indexing applies to other databases/content in Logos, not just your Library resources e.g. the Document index to quickly locate your documents. This type of indexing occurs in the background whenever a change is made, usually a matter of seconds. Commands exist only for the Library resource indexing (incl. Personal Books).
When the Catalog index files have been deleted, a re-index should only take a "short time".Dave
