Logging in. . . .
I do not know if I am the only one, or if I just missed it somewhere, but excuse me if this has been mentioned before. I click on the icon in my start menu to open the program, and I get the small "logging in" dialogue. Since the Beta started I have never had it log in the first time. It invariably get a second slightly larger dialogue box that says "unable to log in" which has my email and password fields visible with another chance to log in or cancel. I have to click the log in buton two or three times before it actually logs me in. This does get annoying, and I wonder if I am the only one experiencing this or if others are having this problem too. Is there something I can do or is it the nature of the beast on the other end?

I got after installing on the laptop but succeeded on the third attempt. It has not happened since.

I always get the second dialog requiring a click to open Logos 4. One thing that is confusing is when the second dialog opens and it shows my email address and password, there are about 3 times the number of ** in the password box as make up my password.
I have experimented with it;
(1) clicked with inserted info as is and L4 opens;
(2) removed the password completely and clicked and L4 opens.I'm not sure why the second dialog is neccessary since what ever is done to the password has no effect on it.

The count of stars in your password box being different than your actual password helps keep your password elusive, its just how it looks, it doesn't really change your password. What do you mean you always get the 2nd dialog requiring a click to open logos4? Has this happened ever since you got started beta testing? Can you post the screenshots of the first and 2nd login, or a jing screen cast recording? Thanks.

Here is a screen shot of what follows the Logos splash screen. It has always required me to click on Log In to open Logos4. Not sure why it is never able to connect to Logos.com because I nearly always have the Forums opened. I couldn't get a shot of the Splash screen, for one time it opened and closed in a split second (doesn't usually, it usually is there for several seconds). Then it is quite a while before I get this box.
Anyway, hope this helps. Do I need to send a Log file?

i have "always" received this screen (as best as I can remember over this last week since I began beta testing).
I have just assumed it was necessary for those who wished to work off line.
If that is not the case, then my logs are attached for you to check over.
Thanks James for asking the question.
Thanks George for checking the logs.
Steve
ps George when I try to attach two logs it appears that one replaces the other? Did both the Logos4 and the Logos4Indexer logs come through, or only one of them?

Hey Steve, just a not to say this box is still up and the indexer in Task Manager shows using only 33K of resources. Occasionally it will show activity, but just a little. This has been up for about 5 hours, so I think I will use TM and close out Logos4, which BTW shows only a little over 8K of resources.

Just in case Logos is wondering how many people are having this issue, I too am having all the issues mentioned above. (Can send the logs when I am back on my other computer that has V4 installed if they will be useful.)

This is also my experience with my desktop, but not my laptop.
My desktop is connected via ethernet cable, the laptop via wireless network.
I wondered if the issue was that on my desktop the first time I tried to login, I entered the wrong password. On the laptop the first time I logged in, I used the correct one. Both machines are Vista, tho my laptop is Vista Basic, and the desktop is Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

I think we've isolated the root cause and hope to have it ready for beta 4.

Yes, it is fixed for me. Thanks to Logos techies for all they are doing and for addressing the concerns of all testers. What a great group of people and a tremendous product.
