Has anyone ever thought the works of John Owen need an index? I find that the info sections of the volumes are minimal. I looked in files for one but nothing there.....

That would be a good idea if anyone wants to tackle that project.

I found that the titles of the volumes weren't comprehensive enough, so I renamed them.

This is how they came from Logos:

This is how I've renamed them:

Works of John Owen: Volume 1 (Life of Dr. Owen; Meditations & Discourses Concerning the Glory of Christ)

Works of John Owen: Volume 2 (Of Communion with God the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost)

Works of John Owen: Volume 3 (A Discourse Concerning the Holy Spirit, Books I-V)

Works of John Owen: Volume 4 (A Discourse Concerning the Holy Spirit, Book VI)

Works of John Owen: Volume 5 (The Doctrine of Justification by Faith; Gospel Grounds & Evidences of the Faith of God's Elect)

Works of John Owen: Volume 6 (Mortification of Sin in Believers; Of Temptation; Remainders of Indwelling Sin in Believers; A Practical Exposition upon Psalm 130)

Works of John Owen: Volume 7 (The Nature of Apostasy; The Grace & Duty of Being Spiritually Minded; A Treatise on the Dominion of Sin and Grace)

Works of John Owen: Volume 8 (Sermons)

Works of John Owen: Volume 9 (Posthumous Sermons)

Works of John Owen: Volume 10 (A Display of Arminianism; The Death of Death in the Death of Christ; Of the Death of Christ; A Dissertation on Divine Justice)

Works of John Owen: Volume 11 (The Doctrine of the Saints' Perseverance)

Works of John Owen: Volume 12 (The Mystery of the Gospel Vindicated and Socinianism Examined; A Review of the Annotations of Hugo Grotius)

Works of John Owen: Volume 13 (The Duty of Pastors and People Distinguished; Eschol, or Rules of Direction for the Walking of the Saints; Various Treatises, Tracts & Letters Defending Dissenters from the Charge of Schism)

Works of John Owen: Volume 14 (Animadversions on a Treatise Entitled 'Fiat Lux'; A Vindication of same; The Church of Rome No Safe Guide; Some Considerations about Union among Protestants; A Brief and Impartial Account of the Nature of the Protestant Religion)

Works of John Owen: Volume 16 (Treatises on Ecclesiology, Excommunication, Remarriage, Baptism, and the Scriptures; Latin Works)

I like the new updated volumes of his works.  Updated English with outlines to give the works a better flow of thought.  I hope they include an index.  I bought the new volume on Apostasy and it’s way better than the original.

Ps. Thanks Rosie for this quick work around! You’re amazing! You, DMB and MJ are The Three Techies women of the forums.  It seems like you’re the only women here.  I’m sure there are more but y’all three are the most prominent ones since as long as I can remember.

Thanks. There's also Carmen Gauvin-O'Donnell who is quite active on the forums. Maybe not quite as Techie, but she does answer people's questions.

You’re right! I couldn’t remember if she was in these forums or the Spanish one, so I didn’t mention her.  I haven’t seen Cynthia in a long time.  I guess she got involved a lot with the inductive Bible study project from Irving Jensen’s daughter.  Few, but we have fine smart women gracing us with their presence in these forums!

I have the older works and some of the new ones like this one: https://www.logos.com/product/245339/apostasy-from-the-gospel?queryId=2c2445eb4cd3ce6a59bd4f1b4f6d84f7

If one does not any of these, witch version would you recommend. the Crossway one is not completed and will take 7years if I can remember correctly and the Crossway is also more expensive. So is the Crossway version worth the extra compared to the original version.

Since the old version it’s cheaper and is in several lower tier base packages, I’d say go for the older version even though is a little harder to read due to the older English being used.  I’m only buying select volumes of the new version since they’re more expensive.
