During the uncertainty and confusion from Logos about the subscription, if I renew it, it means I am throwing my money through the window. Isn't that right?
It depends on what you use Logos for & I am sure some great things will be added over time I choose to stay positive & do not get caught up in the negativity, it just isnt worth my time.

No, you are not throwing your money through the window. You are ensuring the company is able to continue to keep meeting is operating costs and pay it's employees during this transition period.
I choose to stay positive & do not get caught up in the negativity, it just isn't worth my time.
Amen. Uncertainty and confusion will reign when people continually ask "Did Logos really say...."
I have invested a lot into this software over the years, and yes, I don' want to lose that investment just as much as the next person, but you know what, nothing said by a Faithlife employees has made me think for a moment I am at risk of losing that investment. Sure, there things that are not yet clear, but I am thankful Faithlife has included us in this journey. They could have done it all behind closed doors, waited till they had all the answers - what they thought were the right answers and solutions - and then told us the change was happening and not given us any time to digest it or offer feedback.
This is a business planning for the future, a business that wants feedback from its customers as a part of that process. It is a change, a change we migh not be completey comfortable with but whatever happens it's not the end of the world .Our God has that under control.

Amen, brother!
throwing my money through the window.
I have been on subscription since 2016 rather than buying upgrade every 2 years. I have spent LESS than I would have on the upgrade purchases AND I have always had access to ALL FEATURES as soon as they became available. The value I have received over the last 8 years in increasing my understanding of God's Word has been worth every cent I gave in subscription fees so NOTHING "went out the window"

I can second this! This is what I have been doing and it has been an overall savings. I’m curious as to see what the future holds with the new subscription model.
Well said!
I've been using Logos since it came out on 3.5 diskettes. Because my church gave me a generous book allowance I always kept Logos up to date. Since I've retired, I really don't need the newest and best from Logos and will be happy to spend my retirement using Logos 10.

If this is really true (not calling you a liar, David, just questioning the math) in general then Logos is making a *terrible* mistake in going to the subscription model...they'll lose revenue.
??????
I don' want to lose that investment just as much as the next person,
If my reply to David's post is correct, then you are actually increasing the risk of losing the company by subscribing. [:^)]
If this is really true (not calling you a liar, David, just questioning the math)
I would suggest that David’s needs for his study and ministry might be different than my needs or the needs of others. If that is the case, he is probably in a better position to judge the worthiness of his choices than I am, or anyone else. Whatever the case may be, I am thankful for benefits that I have received from recent Logos improvements, and I remain hopeful for their future.
I am also hopeful that these changes are beneficial to all of us who use Logos, for many years to come.
If this is really true
Pretty simple math annual subscription (grandfathered in) x 8 is $800
2 year upgrade cycle (yes there would be some dynamic savings) x 4 is $1684
actually increasing the risk of losing the company
Not as long as I buy resources to go along with the features I rent - Library over 20 years is over $15K
Consider your momentary uncertainty about a subscription as a speed bump. You don't stop driving when you encounter a speed bump. My current investment strategy is my Logos library and a full-feature set. Subscription is merely the means of financing it.
If by "throwing my money through the window" means you throw it and a guy from Logos catches it, puts it in a box that unlocks more features while you keep throwing the money, then yes. BTW he'll also give you a few discounts along the way when you do want to buy stuff.
This has been my thinking also. That's why I am on subscription now. [8-|]
Does anyone know the link to the new Premium/Pro/Max subscription page? I can't find it on Logos.com.
As a Connect subscriber told to patiently wait for our turn to convert to the new subscription plans, I feel like we've been unfairly locked out of using the new AI features all these months because of the delays. Feels like we've stuck in limbo...
Does anyone know the link to the new Premium/Pro/Max subscription page?

Thanks for the link.
I have two questions (for Logos or for anyone who knows):
1. If I sign up for Pro now, what do I lose when my Connect (with no books) expires later in the year? (I do not own a full feature set, which is the only thing I care about not losing. I don't care about the 3 free books, Lexham discount, Faithlife TV, annual 2% etc).
2. If I sign up for Pro now, can I get a refund for the remainder of my unused Connect subscription? (it expires in December)

You might be wise to call Logos to be sure of the answer you want.
The new subscription model should be fleshed out before then and Logos will contact you to show you the new options. But yes, Pro will be replacing Connect although with a few less features, but with some new features as well. They will take in consideration your current subscription.
In my case over the years, I've paid for three full feature upgrades of different versions of Logos...
2016: Logos 7 full feature upgrade - $346.27
2020: Logos 9 full feature upgrade - $237.69
2022: Logos 10 full feature upgrade - $150.58
If I were to pay up front $240 for a 2-year subscription (I've never subscribed for anything from Logos and I have no intention of subscribing), I would be paying more than I've paid for the prior full feature upgrade, and in all likelihood, I would be paying for features that I have absolutely no intention of using such as anything A.I.-related.

You are making my point very nicely. Logos lost $864 dollars. Now multiply that times (say) a million customers.

Two things will always be true:
(1) The House makes the rules.
(2) The Rules are set up so the House makes money.
Given that, if Logos is going to increase revenue, someone is going to pay more. The only way to offset that (and the offset has to be temporary) is to exponentially increase volume or significantly decrease expenses. Nothing is getting cheaper in the Joe-conomy we have, so volume is the only way out. And if their volume doesn't increase enough, guess who will be paying for the additional revenue?
Pray that enough millennials can't do math and the volume goes way up. Us boomers ain't buyin' it.
It will be interesting to see what Logos customers choose to do. All I can say is that I recently bought DxO PhotoLab instead of Adobe Lightroom simply because DxO offers a one-time purchase option, and Adobe does not. Others may have different preferences. Will I upgrade when a new version of DxO comes out? Probably - I like the product and have used it a good bit. But it will be my choice, and I don't have a need for rolling upgrades between versions. But others may feel differently.
Agree. But I suspect they don't have a workable plan B. That's if indeed the bulk of high-rollers (book purchasers)) are getting old.

I think they are all getting older or getting dead. At least those are the only options I was offered. [8-|]

All too true.
Well, this boomer at any rate isn’t dead yet, and I am excited about the Logos Max (early access) I am now subscribed to. [H]
At least those are the only options I was offered.
Yeah, I wanted other options there as well. I got the same deal you did.
Yes, I subscribed to Max using the yearly rate yesterday. I almost chose the least expensive option, but the price seemed reasonable for all the included features and the opportunity to try a few ECC commentaries.
A few comparisons were based on previous costs. Prices will go up like everything else. My annual homeowners and car insurance subscription has risen substantially. ;-)
Prices will go up like everything else
Not everything - the price of salvation has not experienced any inflation. [:D]
I have no criticism of Logos for going to a subscription model. If it is in their best interest, go for it! I am just never going to subscribe. I wish those that choose to do it well and much success. I have been a Logos Bible Software customer since at least 1991.
I would like to be able to purchase new books, and especially commentaries when Logos publishes them. For me it is all about the books anyway. If Logos ever publishes the Bicentennial Edition of Wesley's Works (apparently, they are not going to), or John Oswalt's upcoming commentary on the books of Kings (coming eventually), I certainly want to buy those.
I do not care at all to buy new AI features, but, for those who want it, I am happy for them. I would not mind if my Logos software ever got new features so long as it continues to run the features I now own. Hopefully, my computer and perhaps my next couple of computers will be able to run my present software. By then, I may well have expired.
My prayer is that Logos, as the Vulcans say, "Will live long and prosper!"
Prices will go up like everything else Not everything - the price of salvation has not experienced any inflation.

True. At first it cost the blood of God - 1 Peter 1:18-19. Then it costs even today.... Mark 8:34-37. [8-|]
Thanks MJ, for a reminder of that great blessing from God!
Mike, I went to add my vote at FeedBear for the Bicentennial Edition of Wesley's Works, and found that I had already voted:

Hopefully, others will use this link to add to the votes.
