Search of pericopes

This type of search might not even be what I am looking for.

I am doing a study on passages that are about brokeness, or being spirtually broken. I want to search for pericopes that contain the truncated word "broke". Is there a way to do a search in Logos to do this to get a bird's eye view? I did an english word study for brokeness. I am now working through an Greek and Hebrew word study but I do not find any original language words that are equal to the term spiritual brokeness. This is the closest I have gotten to in my analysis. The word for break-in Greek is eklasen which clearly means to break or to be broken. The method of being spiritual broken is my key term and I do not get how to move forward in my analysis.

My community light study group is about to start a book study on The Broken Way: A Daring Path into the Abundant Life by Ann Voskamp. I want to do a analysis of being spiritually broken, its rammifications, the biblical theological story of brokeness before we begin the study of the book. I do not want to be biased in only reading one person.

Look for broke in Bible Sense Lexicon and you will find phrases that indicate spiritual brokenness.

Right-click relevant words in the passages you quote for "Sense" words. But "broken" in Rev 2:27 is not a spiritual state!

Okay, step back and think more deeply about what you want.

    1. Do you really want a specific word or are you really looking for meaning?
    2. Are you looking for the specific word/meaning or are you looking also for figurative speech that conveys the meaning. [Note my example does not contain figurative speech tagging that would apply]
    3. What do you mean by "truncated word" - the word "broke" is not truncated - it is a form of break. If you are really looking for a specific word rather than a meaning what lemma are you looking for.
    4. You don't search for pericopes - you display the pericopes of the results or determine the pericope boundaries in which a result lies. You can only/always search for an instance of text that meets your criteria. However, see second part of the response below

    For each example you give:

    1. on the left, select the lemma, sense, or figurative speech/figure of speech tag that you want i.e. red box
    2. on the right, select the search you want i.e. green box

We have no option to search with boundaries of "pericope". However, you may wish to search within a chapter rather than within a verse to avoid having verse breaks cause you to miss occurrences. Note that for a single search term this rarely matters. It is a genuine concern if you add criteria to limit your results to "spiritual".

    Looking for meaning

Looking for both meaning, figurative speech and textual wordplay.

I am looking for all conjugations of the word broke.

Thanks MJ. Your search really helped to guide me on this study. Blessings.

the word/lemma is break not broke an important distinction in the long run.
